Danny had soon established a pattern. He mainly avoided the pack, usually being met with sorrowful or furious looks whenever he was recognised. He flittered between the library and kitchens mostly, enjoying watching the wolves work in relative peace. Oscar avoided him whenever possible, but he did occasionally summon him to his office for a chat or, on over one occasion, pull him into his lap. He never said how much he relished such occasions.

So it didn't surprise him when he was called in again after a round of three weeks.

"It's a full moon tonight." Oscar said bluntly.

The vampire swiveled in his office chair, turning to face him. His feet were kicked over the arm, laying in it entirely wrong. It didn't annoy Oscar like it should have, which in itself made the wolf very annoyed.

"I'm listening"

"You need to stay in this room, okay? No matter what happens, stay in the office. It's got repellents on it so the books aren't damaged,"

"Got it, Captain." the vampire gave a half salute and winked.

"No matter what happens-"

"I keep my sorry little arse in here. Yup, got it. Can I go now?"

"No, the other wolves are getting set up. I've left blankets and wine, so settle down. And don't read any of my stuff."

Danny groaned, letting his head fall back.

...

The vampire grew bored quickly, rolling the globe on the desk. He'd considered napping a few times, eyeing the office chair, but the burning of hunger still growled distractingly. So instead he had watched the sun go down, it's brilliant oranges and yellows painting the office walls.

It had grown dark quickly, the moon peaking gently over the horizon and through the thick trees, and the voices that once buzzed through out the mansion had now died down.

Distantly, he heard a howl.

So it had begun.

The wolves were loud, especially against the vampire's pointed ears. Sounds of playful fights, yips, and yowls echoed throughout the halls.

The padding footsteps sounded all too close.

The scattered scratches sounded from the door.

"What the bloody fuck?"

A whine sounded before a loud thump was heard. Danny sat up straight in his chair.

"Are you throwing yourself at the door?" The vampire said incredulously. Another thump and whine.

"You're going to hurt yourself, wolf. I'm not worth that. Probably don't even taste that good."

Suddenly the wolf burst through the door almost flying off it's hinges, whining loudly.

It was huge, mottle black fur looking almost blue in the low light of the moon. It reared up, most likely at the smell of the repellent, but continued to stalk forward towards him.

Gently, it took the shocked vampire's shirt between its teeth.

"Whatthefuckwhatthefuck," Danny mumbled, "of course, of course, this would bloody happen. Hey Wolfie, I'm not a toy."

The wolf growled, tugging harder, before whining loudly.

"Shit okay! Okay, I'm coming with you. I'm going. God, you're pushy. I'm going to die young,"

The wolf made a little yip and began pushing the vampire forward with his snout.

"Oscar, if this is you, I'm incredibly pissed," the wolf chuffed at the name.
