A scream struck the air before Oscar howled.

What happened next was a blur of action.

Huge wolves, bigger than Danny had ever seen, pounced through the now open window frames. They held no scent, with paws bigger than the vampire's face. Oscar pushed him out of the way of one's huge teeth.

The wolves of the pack began to shift, a crude cracking of bones and the splitting of skin.

They collided in a beating sea of fur and flesh, screams and howls intertwining in some sick harmony. Danny steadied himself before launching himself at the nearest of the scentless wolves. It had silken ivory, fur, and brown eyes that caught his almost instantly.

He grabbed around its throat, climbing up high onto its back. It fought and twisted against him, writhing in a way that forced him to cling on for dear life.

He swung himself underneath its jowls, avoiding its snapping teeth to plunge his own deep in, pulling his head back to rip out the wolf's throat in a bloody mess. The taste caused his senses to prick up fast, tracking movements quicker and following sounds with more accuracy. And so he made eye contact with his next prey.

The battle lasted hours, and the scent of blood grew intoxicating. Each fallen wolf added to his strength, and the actions began to blur. Fallen body after fallen body piled up on the floor of the hall, broken walls now crumpling on the corpses.

Pain flared up in his head, like a pain he had never felt, and fought the urge to fall to his knees.

Oscar. Where was Oscar

He looked desperately for the alpha as he fought, having lost sight of him after his first kill.

"Oscar! Oscar! Where are you?" He screamed out. Panic swirled in his chest, searching for the black wolf.

The fighting had begun to die down, the higher pack having mostly retreated, but still, too many of them remained. Danny dived through the crowd, ducking and sliding to avoid teeth and claws. A large grey wolf turned to him, bobbing his head slightly.

"Edwards, where's Oscar?" he said desperately

"He's not with you?" The scarred wolf said clumsily through thick teeth.

"I can't find him and he's hurt" Danny was cut off by a swipe of claws that hit him in the stomach. He hissed loudly and stepped back slightly. Edwards pounced on the offender.

He rushed out of the way, dashing to the gardens.

He almost wept when he found Oscar,

The alpha wolf's fangs were locked with the largest wolf's own razors. He was bleeding severely from a wound in his skull, and one of his eyes was gorged out of his head.

"Oscar!" He cried out

A huge wolf took advantage of his vulnerability and pushed him to the ground. His face smacked on the floor, inky black oozing from his nose and mouth instantly, and pain erupted in his chest. Oscar let out a mixture of a howl and a whine, distracted, and the large wolf pounced, slamming him with its full body.

Fuck.

The sound of wind suddenly picked up, huge gusts of it suddenly hitting his face. A shadow the size of a house appeared over them all, and Danny was sure that the wall was collapsing over them.

That was until the wolf was thrown off of him.

A magnificent golden dragon. Her wings were the width of the entire garden when stretched when she landed, her mouth a jumble of massive fangs.
