i walk into my classroom to jihyo's empty seat. i didn't think anything of it until i got a text from her a few minutes later.

jihyo skipping school today, wanna join?

me um too late i'm already in class

jihyo nooooooo

jihyo wait

me what??

me nope we just hung out

jihyo didn't even kiss?

me okay but what if he actually doesn't like me back and it's all an illusion im making up in my head to make me feel better about the fact that he indeed doesn't have any interest in me

i sigh as i shut my phone off and place it down on my desk. yeah, i definitely wasn't gonna be taking any chances. honestly, maybe my self pride is too high for the embarrassment of rejection.

i stood in front of the cash register as i watched the customers i just took the orders of walked over to the other side of the counter to pick up their drinks. i felt two hands on waist as they gently pinched it and i looked over to see suhwa smiling the biggest smile i'd ever seen.

"so?" she says.

"what?" i say confused.

"how did it go?" she says, hitting my arm playfully.

"good, we hung out, nothing more." i say.

"i bet you wish something more happened." suhwa says as she wiggles her eyebrows.

"oh my god, i mean, yes, but like." i say quietly even though i knew minho was in the locker room. i didn't need anyone hearing this, even if they didn't know what or who i was referring to.

"do something then!" suhwa says rather loudly making some customers and our coworkers look our way causing her to quickly bow her head down and apologize.

i giggle, "my other friend said that as well but i don't, it's easier said than done." i quietly say.

"true, true." suhwa then thinks for a moment, "don't worry girl, i got your back. i'll make it so that you two are alone together more often." she says before squeezing my left hand and walking to the locker room.

later that week it was friday once again. i feel like the days had been going by so fast. nothing has really been going on in my life if i was being honest. i barely even talked with minho since last week when we hung out, making me wonder if he hung out with me, saw my personality more, and decided that i was like, boring or something.

i was at work, cleaning the tables after we just closed up when suhwa bursted out of the locker room.

"we are going out!" she announced and everyone looked over at her. "who's down?" suhwa asked and everyone just shrugged, meaning yes. "let's go bowling!" she suggests.

"bowling?" i say.

"bowling." she says, winking at me.

"i'm confused." soobin says as he glances from suhwa to me, then me to suhwa.

we walked into the bowling place and went to the front counter. "can we rent a lane?" suhwa asks and the woman working behind the desks just sleepily nods as she fights off sleep. we all paid before all getting our bowling shoes and walking over to the lane she said to go to.

i sat on the booth seat and took off my sneakers before sliding on and tightly tying the bowling shoes laces. i was the first one to finish getting my shoes on so i went to get my bowling ball first.

i picked a white ball that had the korean flag on it and walked back to my seat, as i was walking back everyone was walking to get balls.

i sat down with the ball in my lap, my hands wrapped around it, as i waited for everyone to come back. everyone walked back with their bowling balls and suhwa put hers down on the conveyer thing where you put the balls before going to set up the scoreboard.

"guys let's do teams!" suhwa suggests. "i'll be with soobin, seungmin will be with sunoo, and minho and nabi can be together." she says before glancing over to me with a smile, so this was her plan?

"team names will be your names combined so soobin and i will be subinhwa." she says and i furrow my eyebrows at the weird sounding name. "sunoo and seungmin will me sunmin." she says and types that teams name in as well. "and nabi and minho's will be minbi!" she says with a smirk before putting our team name in.

"these sound like ship names." seungmin comments.

"ship name, team name, same thing." suhwa says before entering our teams.

i sigh as i look down at my bowling ball for a second, "come on minbi." a voice says and i look up to see minho looking down at me as he stands in front of me with his bowling ball. are you a good bowler?" he asks.

"um, yes. of course." i say, getting up from my seat. he steps a little forward so that the two of us are like, extremely close. i feel my cheeks start to heat up and i look down unconsciously.

"you get flustered so easily." minho comments and i look back up at him. "it's cute." he says and i can't even say anything in response, i didn't even know what to say, no thoughts were coming to my mind.

"it's your turn guys." seungmin says, breaking us out of whatever trance we were in.

i place my hand on minho's chest and push him away from me before i go to walk to the lane. i then bend down a little before i swing my arm gently and let the ball go, the ball glides down the aisle and hits the pins with two standing up. the pins then rise so it could clean the fallen pins off and the two pins go down again. my bowling ball comes back up the conveyer thing and i grab it before going back to the lane. i sigh before swinging my arm and letting go of the ball and wait to see that both pins are hit down.

i turn around to face everyone and smile as i playfully bow, "yep, yep." i jokingly say as i walk back to where minho was now sitting on the booth. i then sit down next to him, "you'll go next." i say.
