i walked through the hallways, on my way to lunch once again, ready to meet up with jihyo since she was here today. i then remembered how minho told me to say hi to him if i saw him, so i decided to just not see him. hence i went down a different hallway and out the doors which led to the courtyard instead of the cafeteria. i walked through the courtyard and into the cafeteria that way and sat down with jihyo.

"i missed you!" she said with a smile, giving me a quick side hug as i sat down at the stool next to hers.

"i missed you too! you're feeling better today?" i asked, checking up on my friend.

"yeah much better. i think it was just my period pain was real bad." jihyo told me and i nodded, understanding completely.

"i get you. you're lucky your mom let you stay home because of that." i said and she nodded.

"very, i don't think i would've survived if i had to come to school yesterday." she said and i giggled.

"hey nabi!" a voice yelled and the both of us looked at the direction of the voice along with some other people as well.

walking towards me was some guy that i'd seen minho hang out with a few times.

"yes?" i say, confused on who this actually even was and why he wanted my attention.

"minho wants you." he said and i just nod slowly before looking at my friend.

"who's minho?" jihyo said.

"my crush." i whisper as i get out of my seat and walk towards the boy as people watched me, i could feel my cheeks heating up.

minho is sitting on the top of the picnic like table, his legs somewhat spread as he sat with his friends, talking about god-knows-what.

"what?" i say, lowkey embarrassed due to the people looking our way.

"i told you to say hi." minho says, stopping his conversation with his friends.

"well i didn't see you, what do you want me to do." i shrug before continuing, "besides you didn't have to have your friend yell my name so loud that the whole cafeteria heard." i say.

"i never told him to do that, i just said for him to get you." minho says with a shrug.

"this is why you called me over, to say hi?" i ask and minho nods. i just roll my eyes and go to walk away.

"see you at work!" minho says rather loudly as i just ignore him and go back to jihyo who can't help but start freaking out when i sit back down.

later that day at work i got into my change of clothes, put my apron on, and got straight to work. as soon as i walked out behind the counter soobin called out, asking for me to make an iced latte. i nodded and grabbed a plastic cup before heading over to the coffee machine where minho was standing. i silently was working on the latte when he spoke.

"were you embarrassed?" minho asks.

"yes." i respond, knowing exactly what he was talking about.

"to be seen with me?" minho asks, his voice low.

"no, it's not about you. i just.. didn't like all the people looking at me." i respond as i finish up the coffee quickly and walking over to soobin, handing him the cup before he headed to give the drink to the customer.

minho meet me in the courtyard

was the text minho had sent me during study hall a few days later. i sent a thumbs up emoji before i raised my hand and asked the teacher if i could go to the library to study. she nodded and i nodded as well before grabbing my backpack before i headed to the courtyard.

i walked out of the doors to the courtyard and spotted minho sitting at a table in the corner. there was some other people out here either actually studying, on their phones, or talking to their friends.

i walked over and put my bag on top of the table. "so let's get to know one another better." he said as soon as i was sat.

"you wanna know one another better?" i asked.

"yeah, i told you that already. now let's start, are you from seoul or somewhere else?" minho asked, referring to what region we were from.

"i'm from busan." i answer. "lived there until i was 11 then i moved to seoul." i say.

"i'm from gyeonggi." minho answers and i nod.

"when's your birthday?" i ask. listen, i had a reason, i wasn't like huge into astrology but finding out people's zodiac signs made me happy along with testing out compatibility. i didn't take the stuff seriously but it was fun to know if based of just your sun sign your compatible or not.

"october 25th, what about you?" minho asked, he was a scorpio, made sense.

"may 28th." i say, i was a gemini.

"do you have any pets?" minho asked and i shook my head in response. "i have three cats, soonie, doongi, and dori." he tells me as he takes his phone out.

i watch as clicks on something and shows me a picture of him on what i assumed was his bed with all three of his cats. "that's soonie." he pointed to an orange haired cat. "that's doongi." he then pointed to another orange hair cat. "that's dori." he then pointed to a dark colored grayish cat.

"cute." i say.

"i know i am but what about the cats?" minho says and i look over to see him looking seriously at me. i stare at him for a moment, before he finally breaks and smiles causing me to smile too.

"the cats are cute.. you, you're alright." i say with a shrug.

"oh come on, don't lie now. you think i'm the cutest of them all." minho says with a smirk before shutting his phone off.

"so do you have any siblings?" i ask minho, changing the subject because it was in fact true, i did think he was the cutest but whatever.

"no i'm an only child." minho answers with a small smile.

"me too." i answer.

"so, is the coffee & sugar place your first job?" he asks.

"no i used to work at this japanese restaurant down by itaewon actually, it shut down though." i say.

"oh, why'd the place shut down?" minho asks.

"the owner was a real creep." i truthfully answer, not getting into too much detail.

minho nodded, sensing not to budge any further, "i see." is all he thankfully says. "you wanna know something? i'm a fucking good cook." minho says, changing the subject.

"really?" i laugh. "i can see it." i then say with a smile.

"you should try my cooking some time. i'll make you whatever you want~" minho says as he unconsciously puts his hand on mine, lightly caressing it before he lets go.

"well i'll hold you to that." i say.

"okay." minho says with a smile as i smile back, blushing as i looked down at my hands.
