HYERIM PACES THE LENGTH OF THE training room....back and forth, flipping her dagger in her hand....absolutely dreading the mission she has to carry out; San was leaning against one of the walls....watching Hyerim as she paced. "Should I bring anything?" She spoke, still pacing back and forth "Honestly....I would just your dagger." San answered as Hyerim stands beside him, still flipping the dagger. "If Mingi says he has everything around for your arrival....then he has everything ready." He reassures, using Raven's real name.Hyerim sighs, stuffing her dagger back in its sheath "I gues you have point." She says crossing her arms. "But, I still have this overwhelming feeling that I'm going to fail." "Hyerim look at me...." She listens, turning her body to face him. "You are Lee Hyerim. You're strong, intelligent and make one heck of a fighter. Just like every previous mission you've been on....you got this one in the bag." San says with a slight smile -his dimples still making an apprence-, Hyerim's lips form a tight line as she nods in response....but that fear was still in the pit of her stomach.
Then the moment between them was ruined by someone coughing. Hyerim turns her head, meeting Boreum's line of gaze "Raven has made his arrival. He's waiting for you outside." She says, before walking out of the training room. Hyerim turns back to San (who lowers his hands from her shoulders back to his sides) "You got this." He says one last time.
When Hyerim leaves the old run down church (the now, current base for The Midnight) Mingi is leaning against a royal carriage, looking rather impaient (like he had been waiting for a while). He looks up when he hears footsteps "Took you long enough." He complains, Hyerim rolls her eyes "You were standing out here for only five minutes." She says, raising her hand to open the carriage door, but Mingi grabs her wrist before she can; Hyerim looks up at the taller boy. "This mission is important to a lot of people, Hyerim. Don't....Don't mess this up." He warns, before releasing her wrist and walking to the front of the carriage. Hyerim swallows the lump in her throat, feeling the sudden weight of Mingi's words.
The entirety of the carriage ride, Hyerim is lost her her thoughts. So much so that she hadn't realized she arrived at the palace, not until Mingi knocked on the glass, causing her to jump a bit. She looks out the window, eyes landing on the huge palace in fornt of her. The white bricks glowing and sliver accents sparkling in the moonlight; Hyerim can't help but feel a bit awestruck seeing the palace this close.
Another knock on the window (more urgent this time) snaps her out of amazement. Hyerim opens the door and steps out of the carriage, then shutting it behind her. "The King and his Highness are waiting for our arrival in the throne room." Mingi spoke as the two walked up the bricked steps. Then the pair then stop in front of the gaint dark oak doors; the guards standing on either side of them, bow their heads slightly before pushing the doors open. The interior of the palace is a little different from the exterior. Instead of white, the floors are a dark marble and the walls are a light grey. The walls are decorated with paintings, either of the royal family or from famous artists.
Hyerim continues to follow Mingi down what seemed to be a neverending hallway, until they had finally stopped in front of another set dark oak doors. Her heart pounds hard and loud in her chest (to the point she swore, she could hear the thumping in her ears) as another pair of guards open the gaint doors. Hyerim's breath catches in her throat, when her gazes lands on King Sanghoon and Crown Prince Seonghwa sitting in their thrones (the empty one would be where the late queen had sat once). They both wear variations of black and dark grey in their royal outfits; let's just say the two of them looked very intimidating....especially the king.
"Your Majesty...your Highness." Mingi speaks, bowing his head (Hyerim follows his gesture); he then turns to her "This is Lee Hyerim....a good friend of mine and an excellent fighter. She shall make a great guard for his highness." He explains. Sanghoon's gaze moves to Hyerim, looking her up and down...like he didn't seem convinced that she was capable of doing such a task. He hadn't said a single word, but Hyerim could already feel her blood boiling...just from the way he was looking at her. Restraining herself from not killing the king then and there, was the hardest part of standing in front of him; her hand was just itching to grab her dagger.
King Sanghoon opens his mouth to speak....but Prince Seonghwa beats him to it. "Father...if I may." His father holds back what he was going to say, allowing Seonghwa to speak. His gaze lands on Hyerim and....he smiles (the imtidating arua immediatley ceaseing.) "If what you of Ms. Lee Hyerim is true...then I believe she will make a fine guard." He tells Mingi, but gaze never leaves Hyerim as he spoke. The Prince's tone surprises Hyerim....he doesn't speak lowly of her or say she isn't capable. And that's when Hyerim notices something different about him. He seems kinder and more gantle than his father....but that could all be facade...an act to get what he wants. All of the Park bloodline was denstined to bring suffering to Kular. Hyerim was not going to fall for this facade; she's going to end the Park's way of ruiling and nothing was going to stop her.
"Thank you, your Highness...your Majesty." She says, bowing her head once again.
