Tom Riddle was casually reading when he saw a boy in a tall tree, a snake curled around the boy, yet the boy was calm. Tom walked out and startled him, causing him to fall out, but to be caught by Tom. The boy's name is Hadrian Peverell and he recently just moved by, he climbed the tree and was joined by the snake. Harry reveals his family can do magic, and that he can speak to snakes. Now, Harry is at Tom's side since that event, being his right hand and most trusted follower.

When a new girl appears and claims to be the female heir of Slytherin, everyone is quickly captivated by her high class and possible powers. Tom starts forgetting Harry and leaves him behind, not realizing he left behind Death's Blessed Child, and heir of Merlin. When Harry sees he lost Tom to a liar, he is befriended by people who also don't believe the girl. Now, Harry is with his three friends, Ginny, Luna and Draco. Harry focuses on his studies and friends and finds himself forgetting about his troubles very quickly.

When word gets out how the girl was a liar and confessed it during Potions class, Tom went back to being the Dark Lord and heir of Slytherin, but he felt something missing. Every time he sat in inner circle meetings, his side feels cold and empty, like something is supposed to be standing there. Tom also finds sleeping to be hard and classes impossible to focus in. Tom finally realizes he forgot and left Harry, his best friend since age seven, for someone that was fake. He ignored the best thing that was next to him and went after something that could have been powerful but proven to be fake.

How will Tom's friendship with Harry mend, and will it?
