Class began as usual, and as usual Kokichi was running late. But Shuichi knew that any moment, Kokichi would walk through the door. Well maybe not walk, Kokichi preferred to make a dramatic entrance. There he was, running into class, being dramatic. Most people found Kokichi irritable, like Shuichi once had. But he really wasn't that bad once you got to know him. The problem was that Kokichi didn't make it easy to want to get to know him. The day passed and before they knew it, school had ended. Shuichi walked with Kokichi. "So, I was thinking we could go to the spot at night!" "At night, but why?" Kokichi simply laughed in response and told Shuichi that it's a secret. In the meantime, both boys went home. Kokichi returned to his empty apartment, he missed his siblings that used to occupy it with him. Rent was due soon, and Kokichi was short quite a bit. The only way he could make the money he needed was if he skipped class the next day and worked. Kokichi worked at a small café known as Starfucks. It was practically a cheaper and crappier version of Starbucks. The pay wasn't much, but it was enough for Kokichi to be able to pay rent. The night arrived, and Kokichi waited patiently for Shuichi at the spot. Shuichi was facing struggle though, it was his first time sneaking out at night, and his uncle was in the kitchen to make it more difficult to leave. Shuichi tried his best to quietly leave through the back door, but he was caught. "Going somewhere?" Shuichi's uncle was rather amused instead of angry. "W-well I was going to meet my friend somewhere-" "Get out of here, just be back before 1am!" Shuichi nodded, and decided not to question anything about hid uncle's behavior. Shuichi finally made it, Kokichi waving him over. "I thought you got cold feet for a moment!" "Ah! My apologies for making you wait!" Kokichi merely laughed at Shuichi's apology. Both boys lied down on the grass. The sky was clear and the weather was cool, the perfect night for star gazing. Suddenly, a shooting star flew across the sky. "Make a wish!" Kokichi yelled. Shuichi thought about what to wish for, he didn't need anything in particular. Then it hit him. He wanted to go on more adventures with Kokichi for as long as possible. "What did you wish for?" Kokichi turned to look at Shuichi. "Isn't there a rule that you can't say your wish out loud or else it won't come true?" "You got me there!" The night went on and the two males spent their time together talking and getting to know each other better. However, it was hard to believe many of the things Kokichi had said about himself when he lied almost every sentence... Other than the lies Kokichi gave, Shuichi felt like he knew the little liar his whole life. Shuichi locked eyes with Kokichi, simply staring into his amethyst eyes, Kokichi staring back. Out of embarrassment, the taller male looked away and checked his watch, using it as an excuse. "Ah! It's 12:49! I should get home now," "Booooooo! Already? Alrighty then..." Both boys exchanged goodbyes, and Shuichi left. The short male stayed a while longer, somewhat sad that Shuichi had to go so early. If there was something that was even more beautiful than the night's beauty, it was Shuichi. Eventually, Kokichi closed his eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep. The sun had awoken him like when your parents turn the lights on when you're still sleeping. Kokichi sighed, it was off to work.
