Ch-24: No, not shadow travel!

The servant ghost of Nico vanished as soon as we got out of the lift, after which the elevator vanished. Nico told me that those lifts have gone back to Thanatos, the god of death.

Embarrassingly enough, I got confused in him and Hades so Nico explained that his father, Hades was god of the dead people, their king, while Thanatos was the one who brought death to people and carried them to the underworld, a.k.a Hades' regime.

"We are in Eripus, Greece right now"

"And how do we leave and go to wherever we have to? And please don't say shadow travel"

"No, not shadow travel, the ship of the seven is supposed to arrive soon"

"The ship of the seven?"

"The warriors who are supposed to save the world"

"But, aren't you the one doing that?"

"Efforts from me aren't really appreciated and always seem to put on a negative impact, so we don't really count those"

This sentence hit somewhat deep inside my heart, as I realised something. That very sentence seemed to define Nico, at least according to most who knew him. He was hated by most living, even the goddess of misery confirmed that. He was an outcast, and he knew that pretty well, it should've been obvious by his lack of social skills and emo behaviour, but yeah, I am stupid and slow at behavioural cues.

"By the way, your skin has turned from sky blue to super pale now, like mine."

I looked down and confirmed, so was the case, i was least to say wierded-out at this point, my complexion keeps on changing way too much for me to care.

There was a silence between us as we walked, it was neither awkward, nor eerie. To be truthful, it was rather comfortable considering neither of us even liked to talk much. I mean in my case there were exceptions when I was scared or down, thus deciding to talk too much or using my broken humour as a coping mechanism.

Just outside the Greek temple of Epirus was the beach and nearby was the harbour, where we were expecting to find the ship of the seven. The sand was crusty yellow and the sky was light and blue. Oh I missed the upper world so much! I was resisting the urge to hug Nico, but the amount of times he had told me 'no hugs', made me leave it.

Soon enough, after this quest was over, I would go and meet my parents and Mia. I missed them all oh so much, yet there wasn't anything i could currently do about it. The only thing possible was to prevent the end of the world at present, then maybe I might have a chance in meeting them, until and unless I don't get banished to Tartarus forever. I have heard most Titans have that fate locked to them despite being on the gods' dide, just like Leto. Dang, I kinda missed her boobs. Just kidding, I missed her in general.

As we reached near the beach, I could feel my messy hair swinging back and forth with the winds passing by. The scent provided by the ocean reminded me of the salty Lassi my mother used to make me drink in summers. So much better than the smell of rotten eggs in the underworld. The calmness of waves moving forward then sliding back was as if one was getting tranquility from heaven itself.

It felt joyously satisfactory, and as the wind current changed with the waves, we knew what was coming for us, the Argo II had arrived.
