"Why do you care?!" he yelled. "Isn't he your boyfriend?"
He said, searching her face for answers.
"What? NO! Did he tell you that?" she noticed his features relaxing in her hands. "Anyways I care because it is my duty as class president and as your friend."
And just like that he was friend zoned before he even tried. I mean did he really think she liked him like that? No. He pulled off his best poker face, stood up and walked out of the classroom.
" I'm fine. You can leave now." He said as he walked through the hallways towards the field.
She followed right behind him
" So, where are you going now?" She caught up with his strides.
" My brother's at the tryouts." He mumbled in return
" Oh, ok" she said
They walked in silence all the way to the field before he looked down noticing what she was wearing.
" Umm.. what are you wearing?" he questioned, returning his gaze to the field pretendng to look for his brother.
" Oh, I have volleyball practice now. And since I know you're all better now, I'll be going. Bye Bowwy." She said as she turned around to go, retreating to give him a quick side hug, then dashing to the court.
He was frozen. He didn't know if it was because of the nickname she gave him or how hot she looked on those short volleyball tights.
"Ayo Bow, you pulling hot stuff. I see you." His thoughts were disturbed by Stefan's friend, Jack's arm, over his shoulders. He quickly pulled them off rolling his eyes in the process. " Nobody's been able to get near that one since 1st form. You got some luck boy."
"My brother's a boss, what can I say? I taught him well." Stefan added.
" I'll be waiting for you on the bleachers. This is the last time I'm going to say this, she's my friend, and she has a name maybe you should use it to adress her and she'll take you on." he said, turning around to find a seat, leaving his brother and his friends whistling in the distance.
As he passed a few groups of girls were gathered at the bleacher watching the boys train of course. Avoiding them completely he walked right past and sat at the far end under the shade. Ignoring their giggles and squeals he soon got lost in his book.
FORTY-FIVE MINUTES LATER...
As he looked up he noticed another boy walking around with a bass guitar in hand and an amp in the other.
"That darn gaming club should be the one to close down, not us." He said as two other people stood behind him one, a girl holding drumsticks and the other a boy.
" But you're not a club we're just lendng you the space whch we are currently short of at the moment." Said the secretary.
"But-"
"I'm sorry Mr. Foster but no one can do it. Just please be at the music's Club practice Tomorrow. We need to start preparing to choose groups for music fest. Maybe your band can audition." she said pointing outside of the door.
After they stood under the shade next to him talking quite loudly, without noticing his presence. It was apparent that they played their band practices at school, since they cannot afford rent but due to the lack of space that dream went down the drain.
"Hey, Bow are you ready to go home- are you joining a band again?" Stefan's voice cut through the air like a knife.
The whole band or whatever you would call it turned their heads in Stefan's direction following his gaze to look at Bow.
"Were you there the entire time?" The girl asked. She was soft spoken which was weird taking into consideration what instrument she played.
" Oh, Uh yeah."
" Did you used to play with a band, Book boy?" asked the bass guitar player who seemed to be the leader.
Stefan's humongous mouth had blown his cover and no matter how much he pretended to not know what they were talking about he knew it wouldn't work.
" Uh, No, No, don't worry about that." He lied
"He plays guitar." Stefan belted amused.
"Really?" The girl asked.
" Uh, um yeah he said." Giving Stefan the side eye.
" Please join our band...We're only missing one person and we can enter the Bandathons. Come to auditions for The Music Club tomorrow, they're choose people for Bandathons." She said almost beggingly. Who wouldn't want to please her? Not him.
" I'm good." He said turning around, leaving Stefan there.
" At least think about it mate." The other boy shouted from behind.
Giving them an over the head thumbs up as he walked back into the school. He couldn't wait to go home.
Back at home wasn't how he'd expected. He found out that his father was holding a party to get to know the neighbors which is code for making people like him. It's what his father did. It was his specialty.
" You guys can invite friends. It's better if I meet your friends now than find out my sons have been hanging out with thugs." He chuckled.
" Yeah, can I go now? I'm done eating." Bow intervened.
" Son, the whole point of eating dinner, as a family might I add, is so that we can interact more often."
"If this was another therapist's idea, then forget it." Bow said and with that he was up the stairs and on his bed . With an electric guitar in hand he began to play a soft melody. How could he escape these stupid after school dinners?
Then it hit him. He should join band practice, maybe then he would have to stay after school and have an excuse. But that meant socializing. Either way he would have to speak to someone. He shut the idea down as fast as it came and got ready for bed.
