The first day at your new job was something you've been looking forward to for weeks. Joining the media team of the Dutch national team had been a dream come true. Being able to travel around the world while doing something you love.

They had sent over some film camera's for you to get acquainted with, so you knew how to work them properly. Now you were sitting with the rest of the film crew you were being introduced to them and to what you would be doing today. Which was following around fellow film crew employee Lauren, she'd show you the ropes in the morning. After the team meeting Lauren takes you to the training field where the players would join shortly. The training would be filmed giving the fans an insight to what goes on behind the screens. "We try to always be here before the players arrive so we can set up our equipment and film them arriving. I think it's one of the most fun things to see them arrive here on the field, joking around with each other. A view I like to share with the fans, because I know they like not only the soccer but also the girls and their interactions off field." Lauren explains. A few minutes later the rest of the media team joins you on the field and moments later the girls walk on too. It was your first time seeing them in person. You had followed many of their tournaments at home, watching them on TV. You were watching them in awe, but quickly got pulled out of it by Lauren asking you questions. Lauren was showing you how she used the camera while telling you what she likes to focus on with filming the trainings, you were patiently listening to her, watching where she pointed and giving your own ideas when she asked. On the other side of the field where Lauren's camera was not focused on Daniëlle nudges Jackie, "What's got you all distracted, huh?" Jackie looks away from you quickly, "Oh eh nothing, sorry." She answers before she starts the next running drill. But Daniëlle wasn't done asking questions yet, she had seen Jackie staring at you and was not planning on dropping it yet. So, she ran after Jackie, doing the drill herself. "So, it had nothing to do with the new addition to the camera crew?" She asks with a knowing smirk and a raised eyebrow. "Oh, there's a new girl? I hadn't noticed." Jackie says turning around to hide her flushed cheeks. Daniëlle calls after her, "Nice try, Groenen. I never said it was a girl." She catches up with Jackie and puts her arm around her shoulder, "Our little Jackie has a crush." She said before running off to join the team again.

Daniëlle left Jackie stand there baffled with flushed cheeks. She couldn't have a crush on a girl she had only seen from the other side of the field right? You were new and very beautiful, she was just admiring the new girl, that's all. Though she knew the teasing from Daan would most likely not stop anytime soon and knowing her, she would probably get some of the other girls on the team in on it as well.

After the training you spend the rest of your workday inside with some of the other media employees who were showing you around and letting you know where you could find all the things you would be needing. At the end of the day, they send you home with a lot of new knowledge and a suitcase full of work clothes for when you'd be working at the games in public. At home you were taking them all out and seeing what it all was. You got the whole training outfit as well as some joggers and zip-up sweaters. Some shirts that match the girls trainings outfits with the word 'Crew' on the back instead of a last name.

That night when you lay down in bed, you fall asleep quickly, worn out by a day full of new knowledge and experiences. But you're excited for your next workday tomorrow. Tomorrow you'd be join Julie in interviewing some of the team before the big game next week. Julie is one of the two people that are on the media team for interviewing and voice overs. She would be the one interacting with the team, asking them the questions and your job would be to operate the camera. Though it will be on a tripod standing still, Lauren had shown you how to set it up and how to get the framing right. After that all you had to do was make sure the settings were good, and that the girls stood in the right spot for the lighting. It was the first time you'd meet the team members in person and also the first time you could prove yourself and show them you'd be a good addition to the team.
