Have you ever wondered what it feels like to drown?
Your body felt weightless as it sunk into the bottomless depths of this dark ocean. You were losing all of your air and your chest was tightening but there was no end. It had been this way for a while now. Ever since you were forced to leave your friends to die.
Ahri will never say it to you but she blames you. The look in her eye when she watched you was that of hatred and regret. You understood why she felt this way. They were her friends too.
The times you spent with them back at the home you had all shared echoed in your mind. The laughter and joy that resonated through the wooden walls and the love that only grew with every passing day. The days you longed to return to.
Sarah and you had known each other for years. Nearly two decades. There was actually a time where you both were inseparable from each other no matter the cause. In battle you both backed each other up without hesitation. You were often she shoulder she used to sleep on.
But those days were over. You wanted to be alone. To rot in the room that you swore would be your tomb. But she never let you. She held onto something that was no longer there and it killed you. You were hurting her and you couldn't stop it. How do you get someone to stop caring for their friend?
Your vision was distorted by the Black water that pulled you in deeper. There was a light just above the surface. What was it? Salvation? The end? A new beginning?
Did you deserve any of those?
You closed your eyes and allowed the water to pull you in deeper. An unknown presence lurked deep below, circling around you.
Your eyes opened when you suddenly heard something odd. Was that...music?
You were no longer in the water. You were on a bed that felt a bit too small for you. You looked down at yourself to find that you had a mint green blanket covering your body. Sunlight peeked in through the open curtains and you suddenly felt like you were in a princess' bedroom.
You sat up and quickly grabbed your head when a sharp headache struck you. You let out a soft groan before the door to the hallway opened. A girl stood there and watched you for a moment. One you didn't recognize.
Janna: Good morning. How are you feeling?
You eyed her from head to toe. You felt it inside of her. She was a Star Guardian. It was one of the many unique abilities that a Dark Star Knight had. You were able to detect Star Guardians no matter how new.
Maybe she knew about you too? Was that why she brought you here? Of she was the one who brought you here, that is. What even happened? You never collapsed like that before. Was because you haven't fought in so long?
Y/N: Where am I?
The girl folded her hands in front of herself.
Janna: My room. I found you unconscious in an alleyway.
Y/N: So you just brought me here? What if I'm dangerous?
Janna: Are you?
You both stared at each other while the pop song played in the background. You recognized the song. It was one that Sarah was always listening to. It was one of her favorites. You knew every word.
Lux: Janna! Breakfast is ready!
You looked past her. Were there other people here? How many? Were they all Star Guardians too?
Janna noticed the look on your face and smiled softly.
Janna: Are you hungry?
