You sat on the floor, spinning around the drum stick in your hand. You were chuckling as Xayah slapped down a card which sealed Sarah's fate.
Xayah: Ha! My win. Dinner duty is on you tonight.
Sarah looked at the card in disbelief. She stood up and stomped her foot in anger.
Sarah: Unbelievable! Ahri obviously stacked the deck!
You and Rakan both shared a look. It was no secret that Sarah was a mastermind when it came to cards and betting. She was just a gambling master. The only way to beat her was to cheat.
Ahri: I did no such thing.
Ahri then smirked.
Ahri: You wouldn't have noticed anyway.
It was just another night in the Star Guardian house. All of you were done with school for the week and chose to relax over some fun games. When the topic of dinner came up, you all played rounds of games to determine who would be the one to make it. And since Sarah lost, she was the chief.
Rakan picked Xayah up and held her like he was presenting a treasure to the group, to which you all cheered. Neeson even threw the cards up like confetti while you and Ahri laughed. Sarah pouted, but quickly came up with a plot for vengeance.
While the rest of you got yet another game prepared, not wanting to end the fun, Sarah disappeared into the kitchen and got to work with making you all a meal. You and Rakan, both being second losers, got the table prepared with plates and silverware. By the time Sarah had returned, you were all ready to chow down on whatever she made.
Sarah held up a platter which had a cover over it as to not spoil the surpise. She set it down and you all gathered to see what it was.
Sarah: Hope y'all are hungry. This one was made with a lot of love.
You immediately winced. That was not a good sign. You've known Sarah long enough to know that she had done something horrible. And your fears were confirmed when she pulled the cover off, revealing five dog bowls with your names on them.
Rakan and Xayah has soggy noodles with cold broth, Ahri had a single slightly cooked fish, Neeko had what looked to be bugs and maggots, and you had what you assumed were burnt marshmallows coated in mustard.
You all had to hold back your urge to vomit, save for Neeko. Xayah immediately grabbed Sarah and threatened violence, which caused you and Rakan to step in. You held back Sarah, who was laughing like a mad man, while Rakan held back his beloved, who was thrashing around like a wild animal.
Ahri sighed before she looked over and noticed one of the bowls was missing. Her eyes trailed up to Neeko, who was already eating a handful of the bugs and insects that Sarah had found.
Ahri: Neeko?
You all stopped and looked at the girl whose mouth was now stained in the guts of bugs. She seemed unaware of just how gross this whole thing was.
Neeko: Sarah's cooking us very good. Neeko likes it.
Okay. So, her being from a whole other star system seemed a bit odd to others. You still had some trouble understanding her yourself. But this? This is a new low.
Though, an idea suddenly came to Ahri who grabbed the bowl and tossed it over her shoulder.
Ahri: You liked it? Well, you see, we have this custom on Earth. It's called a "Chef's Kiss".
You quickly caught on and held Sarah so she couldn't escape. She began to panic while you locked her arms.
Neeko: A kiss? Neeko loves kisses!
