November 30th
Dear boy with the half smile,
Today you found out that your mom was responding well to her treatment and that the cancer was noticeably decreasing in her body. You finished your meal without a struggle. And for the first time in nearly a month, I saw a little glimpse of that crooked grin that makes your eyes crinkle at the sides. That's what made me remember why I want to see you be back to the way you were at the beginning of the school year. I want to see that stunning human being that would talk to the people that had no one to talk to and help those that couldn't ask for it. And I saw that human today and that little space in my heart that is specifically reserved for you warmed up a tiny bit at the sight of it.
The girl that witnessed a gorgeous smile.
