Chapter 18 - Denial

Y/N POV

I pull away with my face at the reddist point it could be and I was shocked by own actions. He looked the exact same as me and I laughed nervously, "Goodnight K." I walk into my room and sit on my bed flabbergasted at the situation I put myself in. I mean what if he didn't feel the same way, I didn't really give him a chance to say if he did or not.

I decided to just go to sleep and think about it in the morning.

*time skip to the day before you leave*

It has been a couple of days since y'know, me and Karl haven't talked about it all. It's been pretty awkward between us I wish I never did that. I mean at least now I know how he feels. I've tried not to think about it that much and focus on other things. Today that thing was re-packing my things.

Me and Piso's flight is tomorrow morning and I want to be prepared. As I was folding my clothes I here a knock on the door. "Come in," I say.

"Morning Sunny," I hear Karl say. That's the first time he's called me that since everything happened.

"Hey Karl," I say not even looking at him.

"Do you wanna go grab a drink, like alcholic drink?" he asks me.

"Yea sure let me just finish up packing while you ask the other two," I say stilled not lifting my gaze.

"No, no I mean just us," I stop in my tracks and turn to him.

"Oh ok, I'll meet you the car in thirty," I smile awkwardly. He gives a thumbs up and walks away. I continute folding thinking about how much better I could've handled that situation.

KARL POV

While I was waiting for Y/n to get ready I played some Mario Kart with Purpled and Piso. While we were playing all I could think about was Y/n and that night. I don't really know what I was going to say to them. I mean I really really like them and they kissed me. But then they ran away, maybe they decided they didn't like me after all.

"I'm worried Y/n may be upset that I also invited Caiti to visit over Christmas. I mean she's only coming over after but they barely know each other." Piso says to us two.

"I'm sure it will be fine," I say, "They are very good with people and maybe they'll become good friends who knows."

"I guess so, thanks Karl. I'll tell them when they get downstairs." he reponds.

Y/N POV

I put on a hoodie and walk downstairs to the others. Piso stood up and walked over to me.

"Hey, I hope you don't mind but I invited Caiti to also come over on the 26th." he explained.

"Nice, it will be cool to meet her in person. Now I get to babysit two children." we both laugh I then walk over to Karl, "Ya ready?"

"Yep, let's go," Karl says and we both walk to his car.

When we get to the nearby pub, we both sit next to each other on the farthest point of the bar we could. We both ordered a few shot of tequila and let's just say, he is such a light weight opposite to me.

"Hey gorgeous, can I grab your number?" he says to me at least that what I thought. "No dude they're mine not yours, no I want them, they love me, no they love me..." he went on like this for a couple more seconds before I stop him.

"Ok, someone's had one too many drinks than he could handle. Let's get you home." I say starting to call the bartender over for the bill.

"No, no I'm fine. Why would you assume somethings *burp* wrong?" I look at him and laugh a bit and pay for our drinks.

"C'mon buddy, you are not going to like yourself in the morning already, let's not continue this ride to maddness." I start to walk towards the door and he grabs my hand. He twists me around and pulls me towards him our faces almost touching.

"You promised it would last forever and you would never break a promise right?" he leans in and kisses me on the lips softly. I know he's intoxicated so this was not something I was gonna do now. I pull away. "I understand, I'll drive you home."

"No Karl, it's just you're really drunk right now and I don't want to do this unless you're in your full mind." I say and his face grows a bit with sadness.

"You don't have to lie Y/n, it's okay if we're just friends." he says. Not a word was said to each other the enter visit.
