King of the Narrow Sea

Year 116 AC

After a few hours of flying, Eddard and Frostfyre land in the front courtyard of High Tide. Standing in front of the castle is the Velaryon family. Lord Corlys is in the middle with Lady Rhaenys by his side and their three children (Laenor, Laena and Vhaela) by her side

Eddard climbs down from Frostfyre with ease and Midnight jumps off as well, he walks towards them to which they all kneel before him and this shocks him

"Please, please. You don't have to do that." he tells them.

"Yes, we do. We must kneel to our King, Ned." Corlys says grinning softly.

Eddard approaches the family as they stand up again. He and Corlys embrace in a hug before Eddard turns to Rhaenys to give her a kiss on the cheek and a tight hug. He walks to his second cousins, giving Laenor a handshake and tight hug while kissing the hands of Laena and Vhaela softly before hugging them as well. It seemed as though Eddard was one of them since they all liked each other's company whenever they were all together. They all grew up together and Eddard thought of Corlys & Rhaenys as his 2nd father & 1st mother, though Rhaenys was actually his first cousin once removed

*A little while later*

Eddard & Corlys are in The Sea Snake's Throne Room where his voyages' keepsakes are. They both stand in front of his throne with Corlys not sitting down since he isn't above Eddard and Eddard is not sitting down because High Tide isn't his. Eddard reveals the proposal to his first cousin once removed-in-law. Lord Corlys however, knew the truth behind the marriage proposal as he's a very clever man

"I'm sure you understand that this is being done only to hurt you." Corlys begins.

"Yeah I do understand." Eddard responds. "They're trying to give me a nervous breakdown." he adds.

"Viserys wants to keep you and Rhaenyra apart." Corlys  states realizing what's going on. "I'm sure you 2 have participated in sexual activity with each other, right?" he asks him.

"Yes we have, multiple times actually. But I'll spare you the details." Eddard replies. "I'm sure Viserys doesn't know that information specifically. If he would, I would not be alive right now." he states. "However, I'm still trying to figure out how he found out about us." he finishes.

"Until Rhaenys informed me, I was unaware of it. After I knew, it was indeed obvious that you 2 are in love." Corlys explains. "You 2 have kept it a well-kept secret." he adds.

"That's what we tried to do, but we probably have put our faith in the wrong people or have been duped." Eddard guesses.

"Who would do that though?" Corlys inquires.

"I'm not sure yet. Daemon knows, but he promised me that he wouldn't tell anyone. Those who work for me have a lot to lose. Those who fear me also have a lot to lose, especially when it comes to their precious lives." Eddard informs him.

"I'm hoping we can provide you some solace & tranquility. We also intend to help you identify the mole." Corlys tells him.

"Thank you, Lord Corlys." Eddard says gratefully.

Princess Rhaenys then walks into the room behind Eddard and stands next to her husband's side

"Your Grace, it would be a privilege to wed you to 1 of our daughters and formally unite our houses. This act to you is unfair and unnecessary, but we accept it with open arms, especially with your overwhelming increase in support and your claim." Rhaenys states.
