Nandini: Manik, what happened?

His eyes were completely wet and he was trembling. She didn't ask further questions and just hugged him back silently.

She turned back but suddenly someone closed her mouth and pulled her back.

"mmmm..."

Nandini: Manik!... She held his shoulders and pushed him a little. 

Nandini: Someone closed my mouth and ---

She stopped and everything came back as puzzle pieces set. 

Nandini: You saved me?... She mumbled. 

Manik: Everyone is in trouble. I will explain everything later... He said and stood up. 

Nandini: Alright... She stood up and followed him. 

They reached the place and everyone got surrounded by the tribe people. 

Elexar: Whatever you do, please don't kill them. They possess knowledge of many things we have yet to know. 

Manik: Are you seriously saying that in a situation like this? Manik asked angrily as soon as he reached that place. 

They all looked at him and soon their gaze shifted to Nandini. 

Lucy: Nandini! 

Nandini found that this is the best time to use her new key. 

She took her  Scorpio key out and rotated it in the air with a slight touch of her blood. 

A man with a human face and half-scorpion body appeared from a dimension hole created in the air. 

"Order master" 

"Help them get free," She said and the Scorpio saw the other people being surrounded by the man-eaters tribe. 

The Chela of its movable and fixed hand became large enough to catch all the tribe people surrounding Elexar, Lucy, and Ajeel. 

It caught them with its hand and snapped their body into pieces. 

"Aww" Lucy closed her eyes. 

Nandini: That's a pretty violent key. 

Manik: That's sooooo cool. 

Manik's eyes are literally shining. 

Lucy: There he goes again

Nandini: Guys! 

Everyone looked at Nandini and she pointed her finger at the tribe people plunging towards them.

Lucy: Aw crap. 

She created a water shield around them stopping them but they kept attacking it with their weapons. 

Lucy: I can't hold it longer. 

Soon the water shield broke and Ajeel created a cheetah with ice and made it bite the neck of the first person who broke the shield. 

They became angry and everyone3 started attacking at once. 

Everyone is ready to kill every last one but elexar created a black screen between the Tribe people and the others. 

Manik: What the hell? 

Elexar: I need those people alive! He spoke angrily. 

Nandini: These people are threats to others Elexar. 

Elexar: I know but these people only attack the people that enter this forest they won't go out on the hunt.

Lucy: That is not a reason enough to let them live! Didn't you see the dead bodies lying there? 

Elexar: They have an ancient book--

Manik: Oh stop saying half-assed things and say it completely.

Elexar pov, 

I wanted to become strong. Strong for Lara. Strong to protect her and my bride. I need to become strong. I went on a search for the strongest master I can find to improve my power and I did. It took a few months I was happy because If I go back I will have my bride in my hand and a happy Lara by my side. A family. 

And unlike before I can protect them now. I wanted to show Lara all the new tricks I learned. I want to show her everything it took for me to reach this point. 

I was so happy while returning home but my dreams and pointless thoughts along with my heart broke. Blood. I saw blood everywhere. 

I couldn't find Lara anywhere. What happened to her? What happened to this town? 

Did I make a mistake leaving her alone when she was in a vulnerable position? Did I make a mistake? I couldn't protect anyone. I couldn't protect the only people who are important to me. 

I don't want this useless life anymore. Just when I was about to die. I heard that Lara died from some monster. I went on a search for that monster because he needed to die at my hands. That was my purpose. That was the only purpose of my life. 

I went on a search. Who is he? Why did he kill her? What purpose? What about the baby? Did he kill my bride too? 

I roamed in villages and towns like an insane person before I actually went insane and started listening and trusting the words of pure strangers.

"Do you know I heard Krish brought back his wife from death" 

"What? That's stupid. No one can bring back dead people" 

"Apparently a book has the solution for that but the people around it are pure monsters." 

"Then how did he do it?" 

"Don't say this to anyone. I heard he gave his best friend as a sacrifice to those people and took the method"

If it was the old me. I would've just ignored it but after Lara's death I couldn't

Is this a chance to bring Lara back to life? Can I bring her back? I couldn't think of anything anymore except to know more about it. 

I searched for no research for years about it and finally found the source. This forest is the source. And the sacrifice. At first, this group, except Nandini everyone is an eyesore and I decided not to care to sacrifice even all of them to fulfill my wish but I started wondering if that was the right thing.

Will Lara be happy about it? Will Nandini be sad about this? Those thoughts constantly haunted me.
