DIFFICULTIES

Today is the day you'll know if Jin's chemo is working or not.

It's looking good so far if you have to judge on his complaints from now on. He's tired most of the time.

He's now sleeping on your stomach, his arms hugging your waist as he's snoring softly.

You softly stroke your hand through his hair, feeling the softness in your hands. But, once you pull back your hand, a bunch of his hair is sticking to your hand. You look at it in horror; his hair was falling out. Did he know?

You quickly put the hair in your pocket so he wouldn't notice and so you can throw it away later, when he's not sleeping on your stomach.

You stop stroking his hair, not wanting to take any more hair from him now.

"Jinnie, it's time to wake up. We have an appointment to go to..." you gently tap his shoulder.

"Five more minutes," he sleepily says against the material of your hoodie.

"But we have to be there in half an hour, Jin.  You aren't even dressed properly..."

"Do I need to?"

"Yes," you say. Jin grumpily gets up from sleeping on you to dress himself up before leaving to the hospital.

Once he left to the bedroom, you walk to the bin and throw his hair away, covering it up by some papers that needed to be thrown away.

"Welcome Seokjin, I honestly never expected to see you here as a patient of mine," doctor Cho says.

"Me neither," Jin says, giving him a small smile.

You and Jin sit down in the room. Doctor Cho takes a seat behind his desk, clicking on a few things on his computer.

"About your chemo, Jin..." he pauses. "It's doing something, wich is good."

You take a hold of Jin's hand, giving it a small squeeze. "But, it's not enough. We still need to do the surgery, and continue chemo."

Jin sighs. "That was not what I hoped for, but it's okay."

"I know this sounds like chemo didn't do anything, but that's not true. We just need some extra help with the battle against cancer," doctor Cho says. "This surgery needs to be planned as soon as possible."
