"I don't even know how to process what happened", I state.

Sam is seated in front of me on my couch with a can of salted peanuts in his hand, shoving them into his mouth and chewing aggressively. I can tell he's just as, if not more, excited as I am.

"Wait so you hugged him and he got all giddy and nervous and stuff?", he asks.

"I think so. His heart was beating like crazy."

I glance down to see Sam dangling his feet. I can't help but chuckle to myself. He's incapable of sitting still for even a second and it's become one of my favorite things about him. Plus, it's easy to read his emotions because his fidgets change depending on how he's feeling.

"So you guys are a thing now? Like a real, actual thing?", he asks whilst digging for more peanuts.

"Are we? I don't know, we didn't talk about it."

He looks at me skeptically, "but did you kiss?"

That word triggers certain images to re-appear in my mind and I can't help but replay the event as detailed as I possibly can, until I feel my face heat up. A gentle grin appears on my face and Sam's eyes light up.

"No way! You actually did!", he shouts out.

I shush him, "what if he comes home?"

He silently apologizes and leans back on the couch. After glancing around for a little he wonders where Sebastian is. I have to shrug my shoulders. He did inform me he'd be out of town for today, but he didn't say what exactly he'd be doing.

"Whatever. Today is our day! Can we go hang outside now?", he excitedly suggests.

I follow Sam outside. I'm not sure where he's leading me, but he told me he found something 'super duper cool' he desperately needs to show me. Finally we arrive somewhere pretty far south from my farm, across the river at Marnie's. He moves a couple of bushes aside to reveal an abandoned skatepark. My mouth drops in amazement.

"Woah, that's so cool."

"I know! I wonder why Lewis never told me this existed. All those times he scolded me for skating in town were such a waste."

He presses his skateboard into my hands and gestures for me to try. My eyes widen.

"What? I've never done this before. You can't just send me to my death like that!", I hastily explain myself.

Sam simply laughs and takes his skateboard back, then drives down the ramp before he stops again.

"You can slide down on your butt. I want to teach you."

Thankfully I decided not to wear any fancy clothes today. I carefully slide down, trying not to get any splinters. Sam carefully grabs my arm and places me on his board. I feel myself shaking.

"Are you sure about this?", I stutter out.

Sam keeps laughing, making me want to punch his cheeky little smile. How can he be so chill? Well, I suppose I'm the one operating machinery I've never tried before. He's the one forcing me.

"Listen, I won't let you do anything you're too inexperienced for", he says.

"How reassuring", I reply sarcastically.

"Alright, now put your right foot near the edge of your skateboard."

I do as he instructs and cling onto his arm.

"Bend your knee, and put your weight on the back of your foot."

"If this kills me, I'll take you down with me", I threaten him.
