CHAPTER 14

Baoshan Sanren saw everything, she saw how Lan Qiren was eyeing her desciple and how her desciple kept flashing secret smiles at him all this while, but she kept quiet and listened to what Lan Qiren was about to say even though she already knew. " Elder Sanren, I think you have come a long way to help us and we even failed to prepare food for you, we were bad hosts who kept their guests hungry for the whole day, my apologies" he bowed and continued " please stay the night so we can show our hospitality to you. I will tell the maiden's to prepare food and accommodation for you to rest well." He said that while still bowing , this was his plan knowing Baoshan Sanren would consider it rude if she just left when he asked her respectfully. And he won.

Baoshan Sanren knew very well that the 2 had taken a liking to each other that's why Lan Qiren was delaying their departure so he could have enough time to spend with her desciple. She agreed and they left together with Lan Qiren and the 2 midwives, they were warned again by Baoshan Sanren on their way to their quarters to never speak of what has happened in madam Lan's chambers and they assured her that even if they weren't warned they wouldn't because their clan rules forbids them from speaking of other people's matter or gossiping. She thanked them and the smiled before following Lan Qiren to their assigned quarters. Lan Qiren showed them their guest room which was more beautiful than anything they have ever seen. The style of the Lan designs were simple yet captivating, the cloud partens were sown to the soft quilt on the bed and the room was bright with wooden panels on the which gave it a modern twist to their current one.

Incense sticks were lit which gave the an aromatic calming smell to the room, they sat down and Changze Sanren poured the already made tea for her mentor and poured one for herself aswell. Lan Qiren who was still standing by the door excused himself and saying he's going to the kitchen and tell them to prepare their meals. But because elder Sanren had a specific diet she lived by, she told Changze to go with Lan Qiren to let them know what to prepare and how, she did that because she saw how both Lan Qiren and Changze yearned for a chance to speak to each other, and they were more than willing to spend time with each other . She kept staring at the door after they had left and she smiled and shook her head as she had came out of her vision Sha had about her desciple and Lan Qiren after they closed the door.

On the way walking to the kitchen, Lan Qiren was nervous, he had finally been given a chance to talk to Changze but it was like all the words were sucked out if his brain and all he did was caress his beard and while his other hand was place on his waist on his back. Changze chuckled upon realising how nervous Lan Qiren was, so she said " Master Lan Cloud Rescessess is a beautiful place, it's so calming as it is on top of the mountains and gives a feeling of being on heaven somehow" she said as she slowly marched her pace, keeping up with Lan Qiren both her arms locked behind her . Lan Qiren cleared his throat and started stuttered a little saying " oh!...ughm ( throat clear) y.yes..uhm it is, Uhm can I t..talk to y.you about something after going to the kitchen? Uhm...it's ok if ...if you don't want to I...I.. understand" then he hanged his head looking at his feet as his pace quickened a little.

Changze chuckled then laughed so hard that Lan Qiren had to place his palm on her mouth to block her laughter, his eyes looking straight into her eyes and their eyes locked for a moment before his eyes shot out and quickly turned his head away, he removed his hand from her mouth and apologized to her. She forgot herself a little and cleared her throat and rushed forward leaving Lan Qiren behind. She was startled yes but there was some kind of feeling she felt and it scared her, she was trying so hard to let go of those feelings. She tried so hard to get rid of her feelings which he didn't know it was, she only felt it was wrong to have them, she admitted liking Cloud Rescessess to herself but she didn't like their way of living. Their rules were too much for her to even glimpse the stone wall which Lan clan rules were written.

She couldn't imagine living in Cloud Rescessess in the future, becaue if their rules, she would have to bound to the rules if she was to marry in Lan clan. She was a free spirited person who enjoyed doing what she liked, she had dreamt of traveling the entire mortal world and enjoy her life as much as possible. She was also a little mischievous most of the time but also very friendly and loyal, Baoshan Sanren had her hands filled with her most of the time, she knew very well what kind of person her desciple was. She was going to release her when the prophecy was completed, even though she would feel lonely most of the time she was still willing because her path was meant for her to be alone as an immortal.

Lan Qiren caught up to her and apologized and before he was about to apologize she said " it's ok, I'm sorry that I almost broke your clan rule" she hanged her head feeling slightly embarrassed and Lan Qiren smiled and assured her that it was ok. They reached the kitchen and entered only to find it empty, the maidens had already retired for the night and the room was spotless. Lan Qiren was dissapointed because elder Sanren would have to sleep hungry after working so hard with Changze and that didn't go unnoticed by Changze who immediately jumped forward and with a soft and gentle voice she said " I will cook for my master, she has a special diet anyway and could be very difficult to prepare for someone who hasn't done it before. So don't worry I will cook" she finished with a beautiful smile and Lan Qiren thought he was dreaming because the beautiful lady infront of him was just so perfect in every way.
