The boy panicked but didn't run, he stood there in shock and kept looking at Lan Zhan's hand which was dripping blood at the time. The boy looked up on Lan Zhan's face and he was even more shocked to see that Lan Zhan was not even crying. Lan Zhan kept looking at his injured hand and removed bits of sand that had engraved itself in the cuts, his face was as stoic as ever and that scares the boy. He kept looking in his eyes thinking that he missed a reaction but he confirmed that he didn't when Lan Zhan picked up the torn handkerchief on the ground and ignored his bleeding hand. He wasn't scared of blood and he didn't look like a child who was injured.

The boy pointed a finger at Lan Zhan still shocked and shouted " yo.. you're...you're not normal!" He then ran away leaving Lan Zhan still looking at his back as he stumbled but kept on running, he was hurt again by the words but he didn't show it. He refused to be weak and he kept it in and acted as if it was nothing. When Lan Xichen came out of his class he saw his little brother waiting for him by hlthe tree, his back facing him and he was so happy until he got closer and saw the blood on the concrete which looked fresh. He saw that it was still bleeding and his heart clenched tightly as he got closer and realised it was Lan Zhan's blood. He quickly turned Lan Zhan around and whisper shouted " Wanji, what happened ! Why are are you bleeding? "

Lan Zhan didn't respond, he lowered his head, Lan Xichen knew what it meant and he was so upset that his brother didn't want to tell him. " Wanji tell me who hurt you, I know you didn't do this to yourself and...and why is your handkerchief torn?... Wanji!! " Still no response even when he asked in a calm voice. Lan Zhan still didn't say a word and he saw that his little brother would never tell him, so he held Lan Zhan's other hand and started walking home. When Lan Xichen opened the door he threw his books on the table and continued to the meditation room still holding Lan Zhan with no sign of letting go. He was in pain for his baby brother and the fact that he didn't say anything really bothered him, he felt that he didn't work hard to protect him and that he wasn't trustworthy yet for Lan Zhan to tell him everything.

He kept looking at his face to see if he would wince in pain as he wiped the cuts with aloe water which was supposed to sting a little when poured, but Lan Zhan was looking at the handkerchief which was a gift from his mother, he saw that it was difficult to fix it. He was in pain and Lan Xichen could easily tell that the pain in his baby brother's eyes were not from the his injuries, but for the torn handkerchief which his mother gifted him. It was important for Lan Zhan and even Lan Qiren saw how neatly he folded it and placed it back in his robe sleeve as he finished using it. So ...Lan Xichen told himself not to ask, again but to carefully observe him.

Lan Qiren came back later from the his clan duties and he found Lan Xichen playing Lan Zhan calming music and Lan Zhan looking so relaxed while Lan Xichen jept6his eyes closed. He was silently praying and asking his parents and the Gods to help him by giving him strength to protect and care for his brother as he realised he needed to work hard to fully understand Lan Zhan. But when Lan Qiren shifted his eyes to Lan Zhan again he saw that his hand was wrapped in a cloth and he knew something must have happened, he knew that Lan Zhan was not the one to hurt himself and he wouldn't have done it because he worries that his brother will be too worried, he didn't want to cause him too much problems than he already has.

Lan Qiren waited in while slowly sipping on his tea because he knew Lan Zhan's meditation woukd take longer that expected of a child. He went from 2 hours to 3hours in two weeks and he was still advancing, Lan Qiren wasn't surprised by Lan Zhan's actions anymore, he just knew he was special. The level of his core energy was also advancing and with these qualities he wouldn't need to work hard when he starts his cultivation. This meant that he could easily fight for more than 10 hours without feeling tired or weak, he would easily kill thousands in a singlehandedly without putting in so much effort. But no one knew what Lan Zhan's powers were and how they were. It was already impressive that he had so much power in him and also the power he was keeping for his soulmate which had its own level but Lan Qiren wondered how it was even possible to contain such powers in such a young age. It was remarkable for him to see

Lan Zhan finished his meditation and Lan Xichen stopped playing his Liebieng and walked out of the room to greet their uncle who was finishing his last cup of tea. He asked what had happened and no one spoke, the boys kept their eyes on the floor and didn't answer their uncle, Lan Xichen, just like his uncle didn't know what had happened to Lan Zhan and the only one who knew was Lan Zhan himself but, he refused to say anything about it. He detested lies and he would rather be silent than to lie, both Lan and Lan Xichen knew that so when he didn't want to speak they didn't push the matter any further. He dismissed his question when he realised that Lan Zhan would never tell if he didn't want to, it really didn't matter if he was his uncle or elder. The maiden brought their food and they started to eat and pretended as if nothing had happened, when they were done Lan Zhan went into their room and slept. He knew the Lan clan sleeping schedule by heart and he didn't have to be reminded.
