Krise smiled as she walked to school that day. She was wearing a white and black strapless dress, which reached up to her knees, from white gradually darkening to black and glitter sparkling from it. "You look pretty, sis," Kaira smiled with approval. Kaira was wearing a light pink tank top and a floral skirt, like spring had come early. Krise hoped Deon would think she looked nice. It was the only dress she owned. Couldn't stand having more than one, Krise thought, a smile gracing her lips. "Let's go now, sis." She called as she headed for the door. Kaira followed typing furiously on her cell phone. Krise rolled her eyes, muttering about what a phone addict she was. Kaira smiled at her sister's reaction, and thought, If only she knew. She felt a sadness welling up within her. Deon had told her something she never wished to know, and now she felt worst than ever. Thankfully, her sister didn't notice as she skipped along the road to school.
In school, Krise thought Deon was acting weirdly. He complimented her on her appearance, causing a faint blush to appear on Krise's cheeks, and she muttered a thanks. He looked really distracted and worried, and kept on smoothing his already neat hair. It was as if he felt frightened of something she didn't know. If he noticed Krise looking at him, nonplussed, he did not say a word. Krise felt a little twinge of anger and annoyance. She felt that Deon was like, pushing her away. And for some reason, it troubled her. She felt an odd sense of sadness and pain. It never happened before and she felt so......

It was lunch when she found out. And she never felt more broken. Deon plastered a fake smile on his face when he accompanied the blonde to lunch. She didn't suspect a thing. He really hoped Camellia won't do anything stupid. He really, really did. But what's the use of hoping when you know your hopes would be dashed anyway? That's what Deon learnt, the hard way. As he followed Krise to a empty table. A familiar strawberry blonde bolted towards Deon and hugged him tightly. She gave him a seductive smile and a flirty glint sparkled in her blue eyes. Her face was caked with smokey make-up, and she refused to let go of Deon. Krise froze. She couldn't move. Deon took one look at Krise's face and immediately shoved away Camellia. "Krise, I can expla-"
"There's nothing to explain. I'm sorry, I have to go." Krise replied coldly Camellia looked her up and down, a look of fury flashed clearly in her eyes. "Who is this ugly flirt that manipulated you, Deon?" She pronounced his name in a possessive manner that made Krise sick. "You're the first jerk I met that was female and I believe a pig is prettier than you." A familiar voice shot back. When Deon turned, he got a slap in the face. It was Kaira. "Kaira, I didn't meant for her to see that I jus-"
"The damage has been done." Kaira said, much gentler and sadder when she saw his face. She pointed to a fading silhouette and a flash of sliver-blonde. Deon did not say a thing. What could he say, anyway?
Camellia thought it was a great show, as did Kaira's old friends, Harmonice and Gemma. A few other jerks sniggered. Kaira shut them up with one of the icy cold glares. "Looks like you lost your girl, Deon." "Fred." Deon and Camellia said at the same time. "Get lost. This is all your fault." Deon growled. Camellia clutched him like a handbag. "That's right!" She pouted. Kaira threw a dirty look. Camellia put her nose in the air proudly. Deon pushed her off, and without thinking gave Fred a punch in the face. "DEON!" Kaira shrieked in shock. Camellia just stared at them open-mouthed. "If you'll excuse me, I need to find Krise." Deon scowled darkly and stormed off. Kaira gave the remaining two people dirty looks. Fred's nose was bleeding and he gave Kaira a pleading look. She glared at him mercilessly. "You have exactly five seconds to get out of my sight before I give you a punch." Then Kaira started counting down. In three seconds both Camellia and Fred were out of sight. Kaira flounced off, leaving mouths open and jaws dropped.
