I woke up to my alarm clock going off. I opened my eyes that felt heavy and crusty due to the amount of time I had spent crying last night.
It wasn't a dream, it was real. My life was about to change completely, and I wasn't ready.
I could feel the familiar feeling of wanting to cry again, I was about to live with a complete stranger, how could they let me move in with someone who I don't even know?!
I reached to my nightstand to grab my phone, I clicked on the group-chat with my friends and stared at the screen.
How am I suppose to explain this? I took a deep breathe and clicked the FaceTime button.
I saw Page pop up first and then luca popped up. "Wassuppp mah g" said Luca in a joking tone. He almost made me smile. Almost.
"Shut up ya cunt, Connie are you grounded?" Page asked worriedly.
"The police didn't come for the drugs.. uh- my mum and dad.." I began but stopped as I started choking on my words.
I took a deep breathe and tried again "They're missing" I said but it came out as a whisper.
"Oh my gosh" page said it was very clear she didn't know what to say.
"They will find them Connie don't worry" Luca said trying to be sympathetic which was the exact opposite of what type of person he was. But him trying to be, made me feel loved.
"I'm having to move in with a random aunt from London today" I said feeing the tears slide down my cheek.
"It will only be for a few days but we will visit you 100% even if your not there for long" Page said giving a small smile while Luca just nods.
"Well I've got to go and get ready but I'll call you tonight with a update okay?" I said trying to put on a brave face which didn't deceive me at all.
"Con you don't have to be brave in-front of us we're always here for you, we love you" Luca said which made me feel a lot better having 2 best friends who know me inside out.
"I love you guys too bye.." I said sadly ending the call, at the same time I heard footsteps on the staircase.
A few seconds later there was a knock at my door, I slowly got off my bed and walked towards the door. Opening it which revealed Detective Kelly.
I internally rolled my eyes as I walked back into my room grabbing some clothes that I hadn't packed yet.
"I'll be ready in 10 minutes" I mumbled walking into my bathroom without letting her say a word to me.
I got ready putting some ripped jeans on, a black vest top and a flannel. I shoved a red beanie over my unbrushed messy curly hair which I had no energy to brush.
I walked out the bathroom and bent down grabbing my converse.
As I got my converse on I could hear the front door open and shut and then voices that slowly faded away. Well i guess it's time for introductions.
Opening my bedroom door I crept towards Elijah's old room and opened it slowly to reveal that he wasn't inside.
As slowly as I could I walked down our stairs wanting to have as much time as possible before having to interact with this woman that I already don't like.
I turned the corner to the living room where Elijah was talking to a woman who I presumed was Claire in hushed tones. I could tell by his voice is was agitated.
I looked at Claire taking in every detail, she had medium lengthened wavey hair, she had deep brown eyes that were glistened with tears, she was wearing skinny jeans and a white shirt. I stood there trying to think of what similarities my dad and her had.
