"Should I say it? I'm getting a feeling that I should say it right now." Gyuri stated with a smug grin. Gi-ppeum sighed as she looked at her friend. Is she even her friend?
"Fine. Say it."
"I told you so." Gyuri smiled in satisfaction. "That felt great." She added.
"It was the most embarrassing moment in my life." Gi-ppeum muttered at herself. "It was like he's a totally different person than the Renjun I know." Gi-ppeum added.
Gyuri snickered at her. "Do you even know him? Gi-ppeum, we're not even close to him. We don't know him, okay? Also, as much as I want to tease you about embarrassing yourself, he was being a jerk to you yesterday. I want to beat the hell out of him."
Gi-ppeum sighed for the umpteenth time as she watched her friend crumple Renjun's picture in her bedside table, eyes ready to murder. The two were in Gi-ppeum's apartment, in her bedroom where she couldn't help but be depressed just because of rejection.
"I should calm down. This is stressing me." Gyuri tried to calm herself down.
Gyuri snickered as she watched her friend's depressive state. "Hey, it's totally fine. You shouldn't take it seriously. There's still a lot of guys out there anyway."
Gi-ppeum faced her friend with a pout. "He could've just rejected me in a normal way. Why would he embarrass me like that?"
"I told you that guy hated confessions. He rejected and humiliated girls who confessed to him." Gyuri stated, hands inside the pockets of her gray hoodie.
"I didn't believe it. I thought he was different with what the rumors says about him." Gi-ppeum sighed.
Gyuri shrugged. "You were blinded, that's what."
Their conversation was cut off by a knock in her door. Gyuri opened it, and was greeted by Gi-ppeum's father, Mr. Oh.
Confusion etched in Gi-ppeum's face as she watched her dad's sullen expression. "Gi-ppeum -ah, I need to talk to you."
—
"We're moving?" Gi-ppeum asked as her father answered with a nod. "Why?"
"You know Mr. Seo right? He got scammed and has to pay a big amount of money and," He sighed. "He's selling the apartments in this very building, so we have to move out."
Gi-ppeum felt her dad's worries, he must be thinking of where they can live for now. Mr. Oh owned his own restaurant but it wasn't really that much of a popular one so he only had enough money from it.
Gi-ppeum covered her worries with a smile. "It's okay Dad, we can stay at your restaurant for a while?"
"I can't let you do that. I'll find some way. For now, don't worry and just focus on studying, okay?" He assured her with a gentle smile.
