"You should go to school with Renjun, Gi-ppeum. You go to the same school anyway." Gi-ppeum eyes went wide as she heard Mr Huang. She threw Renjun a glance, just to see his reaction.
They were all eating breakfast. Gi-ppeum was still being glared by a kid in front of her. Her father was already out in his restaurant. She threw Renjun a glance, who stopped eating as he heard his dad.
"Do I have to?" He asked. Mr Huang gave him look. "Yes. You should teach her the directions to your school, what if she gets lost?" He muttered as he sipped on his coffe mug.
"It'd be nice if she gets lost." The little boy snickered. Gi-ppeum wonder what was wrong with this kid. Did I do anything? She thought.
"Renji! How can you say that?" Mrs. Jieun called the boy out. Renji rolled his eyes. "I'm leaving." He said as he got up and walked away. Mrs. Jieun followed after him. "Do you want me to walk you to school?"
Renjun had already got up, picked his coat up, swinging his bag in his shoulder. He stopped and turn to look at Gi-ppeum who was still munching a toast in her mouth.
"Yah. You're not going?" Renjun said. Gi-ppeum immediately got up, the toast still hanging in her mouth as she got her bag and followed him out.
Gi-ppeum silently followed Renjun as he took a turn. "Is this the way to school?" Gi-ppeum asked, muching the last piece of the toast. She noticed some students nearby going the other way.
"Just follow me." He kept the conversation short. Gi-ppeum almost forgot of what he had told her last night. I shouldn't be talking to him. She kept the thought to herself.
She watched him knock on someone's door and as it opened, a guy greeted him. Gi-ppeum felt like it was taking forever and decided to just follow those students nearby that had the same uniform as hers. They would surely go with the same direction as me, right? She thought.
She was walking behind a male student, her eyes focused on his feet at every step he take. Gi-ppeum suddenly thought of what had happened last night. How Renjun pitied her. How she had questioned herself in her bed of why, just why did she like someone like Renjun.
I shouldn't have liked him. Three years and this is what I get? A two faced jerk? Imagine how disappointed I am, after liking him for three whole years. I even stopped myself from simping on kpop boys too much because of him—
Gi-ppeum's thoughts cut off as she felt her forehead bump into someone. She held her forehead, feeling a small wave of pain in her head.
"Woah. Are you okay?" A deep voice spoke. Gi-ppeum turned to look at him, still touching her forehead to ease the pain.
"Yeah, I-m fine." She says, feeling the pain fade away. "I'm really sorry, I just turned and you were going straight at me so I couldn't—wait," The guy stopped talking.
Gi-ppeum stepped back as the guy pointed towards her face. "You—you're that umbrella girl, right? Oh Gi-ppeum?" The guy said with a grin. "I've been trying to find you for days!" He exclaimed.
"Eh? Why—who?—" Gi-ppeum began to recognize him. "Ah! The freckles guy!" Gi-ppeum exclaimed, covering her mouth as she realized what she had said.
"Sorry—it just came to mind." Gi-ppeum sheepishly grinned. "I actually forgot your name, sorry." She scratched the back of her head.
Felix grinned. "Lee Felix. I'm in class 2" He stated. "How about you? What class are you in?" He asked.
"Oh. I'm in class 1. We must be the same age?" Gi-ppeum asked him. Felix nodded. "Yeah, I think I saw you somewhere around here at school."
"So you live around here? I can walk with you to school." Felix suggested. Gi-ppeum felt relieved she had someone to walk with, she was afraid of being lost.
She nodded. "Sure. Should we go now?" Felix nodded in agreement.
As they two walked their way to school, they had fun talking to each other. It turns out that Felix had been finding her for days as he wanted to thank her kindness the last time they met. Even if they were in the same grade, he still had a hard time finding her as his class was a bit far from hers.
"You should probably go now, you don't need to walk me to my class." Gi-ppeum said. Felix looked around, trying to remember where her class is. The school is a bit big and confusing if you're not a student from here.
Felix smiled. "Okay. By the way, do you have plans after class?" He asked. Gi-ppeum shrugged. "I don't know, I'll see. Why do you ask?" She responded.
"I was wondering if I could buy you food after class. To thank you from the last time. If you want to?" Felix asked.
Gi-ppeum smiled sheepishly. "Ooh, your treat?" Felix chuckled. "Yeah, afcourse. I haven't really thank you for what you've done."
Gi-ppeum snickered. "It was nothing. That was a really small thing to do. You don't even need to thank me." She shrugged.
Felix just smiled as he looked at her. "It's a pretty big deal for me." He whispered. "I should go now. See you later." Gi-ppeum waved at him as he walked away with a grin.
"What was that? Who's that good looking fellow?" Gi-ppeum almost jumped out as she heard Gyuri behind her.
"Gyuri! Can't you stop giving me heart attacks!?" Gi-ppeum complained to her friend. Gyuri shrugged. "I just can't help it. I have a really strong charisma, you know?"
"Anyways. Who's that pokemon?" Gyuri asked her. "What pokemon?—you really have a way with words—" Gyuri stared right through her. "Are you replacing Renjun with that guy?"
"What? No! He's a... friend I met—yeah." Gi-ppeum snickered at her. Gyuri was not convinced. "Well, he's not that bad. So I'm supporting you in this one."
Gi-ppeum was confused. "What are you supporting for?"
"That guy. He's better than that Renjun of yours. Ignore him and date this guy. Trust me." Gyuri said with a smug grin.
