In the days that followed I would catch myself tracing my lips randomly throughout the day, wondering how something so small, so meaningless could make me feel so much. The kiss was the last thing I thought about before I fell asleep and the first to replay in my mind every time I closed my eyes. The only thing I could think about was the way Naya's soft lips felt against mine, the heat that ignited my body when she touched me and how gentle she was with me.

It was so perfect it was driving me insane, so I had to tell someone.

"I can't believe you kissed Naya and you're only telling me about it now!" Naomi exclaimed, causing a lot of glares to be directed at us in the quiet library.

"Shut up! Before someone hears you." I hushed her, but she could barely hear me with all her grinning.

"Sorry." She shrugged excitedly, urging me with her eyes to continue. "Is she a good kisser at least?" She whispered.

"Naomi!" I groaned. "We're not talking about this, besides, it doesn't count- Naya was just doing me a favour."

"So yes?" She grinned, wiggling her eyebrows a little and I felt my resolve crumble.

"Yes," I admitted, which was a little bit of a lie- Naya was an excellent kisser, not that I had much to go off of.

"Wow." She smiled in disbelief. "This news is more surprising than mine." She grinned, talking in a soft voice.

"No, it's not." I insisted. "You and Gabe have been a long time coming, I'm not surprised he asked you to be his girlfriend." I smiled, trying my best to get her attention off of me. "That's so much more interesting than a pity kiss."

Harsh, but true.

"Pity kisses don't exist, Mozart, not with girls as pretty as you. Naya wanted to kiss you- trust me." She grinned but I didn't, not fully, so I didn't believe her.

"It doesn't matter, it's over, it's done and it's not going to happen again." I shrugged, turning back to my textbook in an attempt to get as much work done before I had to go meet Aunty Amara for Naya's game.

"Huh, we'll see about that." She huffed with a sly smirk but I ignored her. "You know what, we need to get you out of your shell, maybe we should go on a double date soon? I know a few people you'd get along with." She suggested and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Not going to happen, I'm not going out with a stranger anytime soon." I shook my head.

"I don't know, wasn't Naya a stranger once and now you're living in her house." She pointed out and I couldn't argue, she was right, but thankfully I didn't have to admit that just yet as my phone buzzed.

"Aunty Amara just texted me, I got to go. Are you coming to watch the match?" I asked as I packed up my stuff but she just shook her head.

"Sorry I can't, I've got a test tomorrow I've got to study for." She smiled sympathetically. "Say hi to Naya for me though." She winked and I rolled my eyes as I left.

"Talk to you later." I smiled before I headed out, walking down to the stadium.

Luckily I passed Aunty Amara's expensive white Range Rover, not missing Omar standing close as she unbuckled Ziyaad from his car seat. I didn't consider myself the emotional type but I was undoubtedly touched when I watched Omar and Ziyaad light up excitedly at my arrival, full of big smiles and hellos. The boys were really cute and always made me feel like one of the most important people on the planet, acting as though they hadn't seen me in years whenever they saw me.
