The Swan family were a well to do family to say the least; but that doesn't mean that they haven't had their fair share of trauma like everyone else in the world. One phrase sums them up. Money doesn't always buy happiness. The Swans were a very stereotypical well off family; Happy couple, an eldest son and a beautiful, intelligent daughter. That was until Lucy came along and unfortunately, she wasn't a happy accident.

Victor Swan had worked his way up in the world, landing himself a high position in politics before being elected for Mayor of Atlanta. This was the start of their mothers, Mary, demise.

William was the perfect example of the protective older brother who has an ego far too big for him, but that didn't stop him from caring for his family. He had his fathers legacy breathing down his neck and weighing his true potential down and happiness for the life he truly wanted.

Alison Swan was the golden girl. Her whole life, she was treated as if she was special, and it was believable. She had her fathers wit and her mothers ability to make a whole room look at her. As well as her looks, she had the brains too. As far as the average person could see, Ali had everything.

Lucy was the black sheep in her father's eyes. She was an unwanted surprise and with her fathers conservative opinion, abortion was no option. She grew up feeling like a constant failure despite her high grades in school.

With Victor's high position in the world, he deemed it necessary that his children learnt at least one form of self defense, not wanting to have to worry about them all of the time. William took up MMA. Alison took up archery, her being the captain of the school's Archery team while also competing professionally, she wasn't one to get her hands dirty. Lucy mainly focused on her hand to hand combat, taking up Judo, Brazilian Jujitsu, Karate, Sambo and Aikido.

Lucy, Alison and William would often go to the Greene farm to practice their gun, knife and general weapon handling. Their father wanted them to be very well rounded individuals with strong minds and hearts.

Mary's demise was no surprise for the older two children, both of them being well aware of their mothers tendencies and behaviour. The night it all happened was the middle of the school year for the two girls; Lucy was 12, Alison was 16, William was 20. Allison had not long tucked Lucy into bed, taking the role as the parental figure in her life, seeing as their father was always working and their mother was too intoxicated or self involved to do anything with Lucy.

William and Alison were sitting downstairs on the couch, relaxing with a whiskey on the rocks each, discussing how stressful life was at that moment. William was starting college soon and Ali had prom coming up, even though everyone was sure she would secure the prom queen title, it was still stressful in the run up. Things like prom dresses used to matter more than anything to Ali.

"Have you checked on Mom tonight?" Alison asked, turning to her brother with a concerned look on her face.

"I didn't bother, she's probably just passed out as per usual.." He confirmed, running his fingers through his fluffy dirty blonde hair as he rolled his eyes, clearly fed up of having to be the man of the house.

Alison paused for a moment before responding "Normally she would have come down by now to raid the liquor cabinet or yell at us. We should probably go and check in on her, just to make sure she hasn't gone into anaphylactic shock or something" Ali laughed, knowing that their mother was likely fine, but since their father couldn't care less and their sister was too young to notice, someone had to make sure she was okay and that burden often fell onto Alison and William's shoulders.

"I don't even know why we bother anymore, she hasn't been a mother to us in years. She's left all the responsibility on us both" He chuckled somewhat, trying to laugh away his pain that he felt.
