23-Moving Forward

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Jake held his chest as he watched Jay walk away from him. Even if he can't see his face, Jake knew that Jay is crying. 

He had always been very concerned about the people he loves and so Jake is just sure that if he's hurting, Jay is hurting too.

"Jay...."

He can't control his sobs as the tears fell nonstop. 

"I can't do this..."

Jake can feel his chest tightening. 

"Who should I call?"

His hands trembled as he searched for his phone. Seeing Sunghoon's number, his eyes got blurry once again. 

"H-Hyung?"

Jake took a deep breath to calm himself.

"Hyung can.... can you come here? I c-can't handle this... Jay left hyung... He l-left me.... Hoon doesn't know..."

He choked on his own and was not able to hear Heeseung's reply. He knew that the older will still come to him no matter what.

After a few minutes, Heeseung did arrived.

"Jake."

The comforting arms immediately surrounded Jake and he just let go.

"Tell me hyung. Tell me I'm begging you... Why did this happen?"

Jake formed his fist and hit his head with it.

"If I didn't lose my memories, this wouldn't happen. I am still together with Hoon and Jay.... Jay will not be hurt like this..."

"It's all my fault. It's all my fault."

Heeseung looked up to stop himself from crying.

"No it's not... Jake please believe hyung... It's not your fault... Look. Sometimes things are bound to happen no matter what—"

Jake shook his head and pushed Heeseung away. Now the older couldn't look away from him.

"Bound to happen?! Hyung he is my best friend! And he LOVES me! He took the risk and entered a relationship with someone who barely know himself anymore and the fact that I am also in a relationship before my accident makes it worse!! Hyung I didn't give Jay any happy memory to remember! Can you imagine loving someone who is tied in his past whether he likes it or not?! Hyung I am no good! Can't you see?!!!"

Heeseung nodded as Jake let out his thoughts.

"Jake listen to me."

"NO! Jay is—"

Heeseung grabbed Jake's shoulders and became serious.

"You are Jay's happiness no matter what."

"But—"

"Jay is aware. He knows, okay? He is well aware but he still did all of his actions because he wants to... Because he loves you. Are you getting me?"

"I know somewhere inside him, Jay is aware that your memories will be back again... I just know... And no matter what his thoughts become that time, he still end up doing it... Because he just wants to give it a try..."

"To experience your love even just by a stolen moment... To see your smiles directed just for him... To have you even just by a bit... He did all of those for love... He loves you..."

Jake stops.

"And because he loves you, he did this. He chose to do it because he knows.... His love might give you happiness but Sunghoon will always be more special. You're all hurt right now but believe me please... For Jay, this is it...."

Knowing that he finally calmed down, Heeseung slowly removes his hold to his shoulders. His hands slid to hold Jake's.

"Now Jake... Let me ask you... What will you do now?"

"If you are only going to worry about Jay, someone might slip pass you again..."

As if he was thrown a cold bucket, Jake suddenly realized.

"Sunghoon."

Heeseung smiled and nodded.

"That's right... Someone is also in pain right now... Thinking that he lost you...."

Jake gasped and stood up. He wiped his tears and grabbed his luggage.

"I need to go back."

Heeseung offered a hand to him.

"I would gladly take you to your destination."

Despite his puffy eyes, red nose, and hoarse voice, Jake managed to smile a bit. With his sincerest voice, he turned to Heeseung.

"Thank you hyung... Really thank you... For everything..."

Heeseung just squeezed his hand once Jake accepted.

"Anything for my friends... Let's go."

Jake nodded as he looked at the path ahead. He made up his mind.

Sunghoon will always be his home to turn to. With his memories or not.
