Hyejin walked before stopping in front of the big wooden doors. Letting out a shaky breath she entered the Masters room.
The master sat at his desk with His back towards her when she entered the room.
"I take it you've learned your lesson." He stated not even turning to look at him.
"Yes." Hyejin said in a slight whisper.
"Good. Now then." He says as he spins his chair around so that he is now facing her.
"Let's get straight to the point.." Hyejin stood up straighter as he looked upon her his eyes void of any emotions.
She felt a pull from his words. She couldn't disobey even if she wanted to.
"You have seemed to forget who you are. So before you leave I thought it best if I inform you again.
You are nothing more than a tool. You're only worthless otherwise. If it wasn't for me your powers would be out of control." The words repeat in her mind. Nothing...Worthless...a tool..
"So no matter what happens it'll be my say that rules your life. You are only a puppet for me." He took a step towards her. "If you try to escape you'll be punished."
"What...what am I supposed to do?"
"I'd advise you to just do what I tell you."
The door opened behind the master and Hyejin suddenly heard a boy's voice.
"What is it now, Seonghwa?" Master says, turning his attention to the boy.
"I have a message from the palace." He says.
"Very well.. Hyejin, you're dismissed." the master says walking back towards his desk.
As soon as his back was turned away from her. Hyejin storms out of the room.
Once Hyejin was outside she turned and looked up towards the sky. The tears were spilling down her cheeks as she heard the master's words echoing in her head.
"There is no escape for you Hyejin. You are useless."
"That's just it," Hyejin whispers as she walks to her horse that is waiting for her. "I don't know what I am any more."
It was a stormy night. Moonlight illuminated the early morning. There was thunder and lightning from the storm in the distance.
Hyejin's horse felt as though it was being jerked towards the small town.
Hyejin barely got on the horse before she felt it take off. Her feet didn't even touch the ground as they continued to race through the streets.
She didn't even notice the boy shouting after her.
San had watched Hyejin ride off into the night. He turns to the guard.
"Yunho let me borrow your horse." without waiting for an answer he grabs the raines and hopes on. Chasing after Hyejin.
They galloped as fast as they could. Though San felt like he wasn't even going at all. He closed his eyes and concentrated.
The moon shined bright, illuminating the edges of the dark path they were on.
San opened his eyes, feeling like he had only just closed them. They were on a small narrow bridge, covered by thick gray fog. Chasing after Hyejin.
"Hyejin..!" San shouts out as he rides his horse over the small bridge.
Hyejin slowed down to look up to the direction of the sound. San called out again. "Hyejin..."
As soon as she heard him speak she bolted off towards where he was, San began to pursue her. He had to get to her. He felt like she was his responsibility.
Hyejin turns to face him. "What are you doing here?" San was shocked to see slight bruises on face. Who had done this he questioned.
"Going after you of course" He says.
"Babo(Idiot)." She said glaring at him. "You're such a pain. I don't need you bothering me."
The moonlight shone upon her face highlighting her beauty. San stared at her in awe.
He had never been this close to her before. He couldn't help but touch her long raven hair.
She threw her head back in surprise and slapped his hand away.
"Don't touch me!" Hyejin shouted. She begins to back away.
"Who do you even think you are.." she continues while glaring at San.
Going after me like you do..."
"I'm not going to let you die out there." San said, taking a hold of her arm.
"I don't need you to save me." Hyejin said, pulling her arm free.
"That's a pity then." He says moving closer to her, "because I'm going to try."
Hyejin takes a step back, half heartedly trying to cover herself with the cloak that she was wearing.
"Come on." San said. "Why else are you out here? Are you running away from someone?"
"Leave me alone!" Hyejin shouted. "Why do you care anyway?"
San gave a small laugh as he said, "I care about you."
Hyejin looked at him shocked but soon she became enraged at him. "No you don't you Babo(idiot) ."
San was taken aback. "Your just using me as an excuse to leave your stupid home." She yelled one last time before storming back towards her horse.
Hopping on, she takes off back towards the village.
The moon that was once so bright was now blocked by the approaching storm.
Heavy rain fell drenching San. A huge rumble of thunder came scaring the horse away leaving San standing alone in the cold rainy night.
He stood there shocked. Was what Hyejin been saying true? Had he just been using her this whole time?
Sure, she was cute, but was he a big enough idiot to just want to run off with her?
To start a new life? What kind of person does that? He turned back around grabbing the horse and rode off.
