You really wish you hadn't waited until the last minute to get the ingredients. Tomorrow was Christmas and you were meant to make a dish for tomorrow's dinner. Yet it had either slipped your mind or you pushed it off for late which did work until later actually came.
Luckily the small grocery store never seems to ever close so that's where you headed. Seeing the lights still on you made your way into the story and quickly gathered everything you needed. You were checking the date on one of the ingredients when a voice suddenly came from right next to your ear.
"Aren't you going to say hello?"
Spinning around you were met with the Butcher that took care of the meat department. This wasn't your first meeting with the man having come to the small store many times and always went to see him first when he wasn't busy. This time you hadn't even gone close to the meat section.
"You scared me!"
"And you made me wait so we'll call it even." He said, making his way back to the meat section.
"It's not like I was trying to ignore you." You followed behind him until you stood in front of the counter and he was back behind it.
"That's what they all say." He teases "but watching you run around like a chicken with its head cut off was quite the show."
"I'm late making someone for tomorrow." You explained while looking through the meats making sure you did need any.
"Sounds like you will be too busy to visit me then." They paused at his words.
He has asked them a few times to come visit his home and even though they have known each other for quite a while (y/n) just hadn't had the opportunity to do so.
Impact another they think more about it they're not too sure why they haven't gone over yet. It's not like they feel he meant any harm or anything of that quite the opposite. He has said that he lives alone so it's not like they have to worry about some unknown presence.
"Well, I believe there should be some time before- "
"It's a date then." He answered with a very mischievous smile on his face. (y/n) felt a shiver run up their spine.
The rest of the conversation was about what time that they will show up and what they will do and the few hours they have before they have to meet up for dinner.
Gathering with the ingredients they need they paid and walked out the store hoping that tomorrow would be the start of something different.
