The next night,
I looked out of my window, pulling the curtain back as I looked at Jimmy who was sat on his scooter, occasionally looking up around him. I straightened myself out looking in the mirror one last time before leaving.
"See you later, mum. I should be back by midnight." I shouted as I trotted down the stairs.
"Ok, love. Have a good time."
"Hiya, Mills. Sorry about last night, the bikers just kind of got to me." He smiled to me weakly as I shut the door.
"It's alright, Jimmy. I have worse things to occupy my mind." I climbed on the back of the bike, pulling my arms around him.
"Right, well." He was clearly relieved by what I said. "Let's party."
....................................
We pulled up to a club as we were greeted a friend of his coming over with a full black suit and a black suede hat,
"How's it goin', Jim?"
"Alright, Ferdy. This is a mate of mine, Millie. Millie, Ferdy." He smiled as I climbed off of the bike, shaking his hand.
"Very nice to meet you, Millie." He bent down removing his hat as I saw a plastic bag within it.
I held a confused face for a second before he stood back up again.
"Ferdy, uh," Jimmy pulled his coat off, revealing his stripy suit. "Have you got something nice for me?"
The two stepped aside as I stood by the bike.
"At your service, man." Ferdy whispered as he pulled the plastic bag from his hat.
"Keep your brains warm, do they?" Jimmy tutted.
"How many do you want?" Ferdy huffed.
Jimmy stepped back, "How about a dozen?"
"Fuck off, Jim." Ferdy turned his head away.
"Alright, alright. Twenty, but how much?" Jim shouted.
"Pretty scarce, right now. I had to go over the water for these." He gestured with the bag. "I had to go to Brixton, and as you know, it costs money to get down there."
"Alright, alright. How. Much." He was stern.
"A quid."
"You are a fucking liberty taker." Jimmy handed him a pound note as he came back over to me. "Come on."
He thrusted his hands into his pockets as he held open the door for me to the club.
When we entered, it was immediately full of loud, booming speakers with music blasting. With people dancing and freaking out alongside it. Jimmy strutted in with me before leaning against a beam next to what I presumed as a mate, taking a couple of those pills before the man walked off to Ferdy at the back of the club.
I leaned against the beam with him as I looked around the place, whilst Jimmy was eyeing up Steph, before Dave came over,
"Go on, get in there. She won't bite. If you don't, I might."
"Nah, I'm not bothered." He kept his eyes on her.
"Not much." Dave scoffed. "I'll pull it for ya."
"You will not-"
"Oi, Steph!" Dave shouted as she looked our way.
She smiled at them before dancing again. The two looked really chuffed with themselves which did make me laugh. I pulled out a cigarette before Dave poked his head to me,
"Give us one then, Mills."
He smiled to me. I handed him one, pulling back playfully before he snatched it. He lit both of ours before turning back to Steph, laughing.
As the band finished their song, we all cheered and clapped before Jimmy grabbed my waist and began walking to the exit.
"What you doing, Jim? I was just getting into it then." I whined. "See you later, Ferdy."
I clung onto him for a second, making Jim stop and wait for me.
"See you later, Mills. It was nice meetin' ya."
He smiled to me before Jim pulled me out of the door and onto his bike.
.......................................
"Had a nice night?" He asked as I climbed off.
"Yep, it was nice meeting your mates. I'll see you....whenever." I waved to him as I walked into my house.
