When the four went back in the caravan, they found Avalon waiting patiently in the part of the room that had the beds. "What're you waiting for?" Noctis asked, awakening her from her own world. She looked up and only just realized that the four older men were staring at her. When she didn't answer they just left it at that.
"I say it's about time we retire to bed," Ignis suggested and everyone agreed. While they all stationed themselves, Avalon stood patiently watching them and waiting for instruction. There were two bunks in the caravan and each bed only housed one. She knew she wouldn't be sharing. The question was, where was she to sleep?
"You can have this bunk, Avalon." Gladiolus offered. She gave him a 'Where are you going to sleep?' look and he answered, "I'll sleep on the floor. There's no way I'd let a girl do that. Go on, I'll be fine," he reassured and she obeyed. Quietly laying down on a bottom bunk, Avalon quickly fell into a sound sleep.
"Out like a light," the shield chuckled.
"Maybe she was tired," the sharpshooter guessed.
"We wouldn't know, it's not like she said anything," the prince huffed.
"Why are you so pissed off about the fact that she's quiet?" his best friend asked.
"I'm not, it's just weird. That's all," he shrugged and everyone else went to bed.

The next morning everyone was up bright and early, as usual. And Noctis was still fast asleep... As usual.
"Avalon, would you mind waking up the prince?" Ignis asked as he plated breakfast. Avalon tensed up at the sound of the task but nodded anyway. She proceeded to one of the bottom bunks that held the snoozing prince.
She poked him once. No response. Again. And again... And again. Still nothing. Then she tried shaking him awake. But it proved difficult to hold him with the plushie in her hands. So she tried to hit him with the moogle plushie. Multiple times. But he just turned and swatted her hand away.
"Maybe try yelling in his face," the shield suggested.
Avalon gave him a quick glance to let him know she heard. But she still wasn't ready to talk to him, let alone yell in his face to get up!
Instead, she crouched down to his level and with all her might.... she flicked his forehead with one of her fingers.
Noctis immediately jerked up and off the bed, earning laughs and snickers from all his companions. Avalon was just about to laugh too when she met his furious gaze.
"What the hell was that for!?" he yelled.
The tiny smile was wiped off her face as she bounced into a standing position and started waving her hands in the air and bowing to him, signifying an apology. After she bowed several times she slowly raised her head to see a weird expression on his face. Did she do something wrong? She tilted her head.
Noctis quickly shook his head and stared at her blankly. "It's nothing. And you don't need to apologize. Just next time don't be so violent," he huffed and walked past her.
She picked up her plushie and followed in suit. They had a quick breakfast and were soon back on the road. The conversation was subtle a usual as the advisor drove. Noctis kept trying to get the girl to talk but all his attempts were in vain as she nodded, shook her head or found some other way to answer.
