Grace
I turn the doorknob and the door opens right up. Caleb sighs behind me and enters the house, I go in after him and we settle in the living room silently.
"I can't believe we almost got locked out" Caleb said breaking the silence.
"I can " I say, I've always thought that one day I'd lose the keys and we'd be locked out, that was almost today. If that boy didn't pick those keys, we'd have to wait for mom to come back before we can get in, she has the spare keys just in case.
" I didn't even get to ask for his name " I say then turn to Caleb sitting beside me on the worn-out sofa expecting him to tell me his name. He just looks at me and shrugs.
" I donno"
He's just useless.

I sat up on my bed when the movie was over. It was late and I knew it, mom's definitely back by now. I look at the digital clock on my nightstand and it read 12:36am in bold red letters. Darn bubbles! How can I stay up so late when tomorrow is school.
I take laptop away from my bed and put it on my desk instead. I feel a bit thirsty, so I decide to drink some water before going to bed. I walk out of my room and tiptoe past mom's room. The lights were on, so I guessed she was still working. I go down the stairs to the kitchen then take a bottle of water from the fridge and make my way back to my room.
I come to the front of my mom's room where the lights are still on and I think, she shouldn't be up so late if she's going to go to work early tomorrow, so I decide to go in but just as I'm about to open the door I hear her voice.
"Who is this" she says. At first, I thought she was talking to me, and my heart almost leaves my chest but when I listen further, I find out she's on a phone call, but so late at night. It must be important. I decide to go to my room and not disturb her since she's on the phone but what I hear next sends shivers down my spine.
"No" she whispers, it sounded like she was scared, and it made me scared. I peeped in and the look on her face only confirmed my suspicion. The pen she was holding fell from her hands and she held her mouth close instead shaking her head, her eyes became wet with tears, but none dropped.
" Leave us alone Costa-" She was saying but suddenly pulled phone away from her ear and looked at the screen. She brought it back to her ear and then pulled it back again to look at the screen. " Costa " she said as she did this.
Costa?
I closed the door back and thought, who was that? It's probably none of my business so I just leave and go to my room.
Lying on my bed I wondered who she was telling to leave us alone and if we were in danger. I wonder if Caleb is awake and if he heard that too.
I sighed I'd probably forget by tomorrow anyway.

Georgia
I didn't like that school. I've concluded.
I don't like being new, It's super annoying, everyone's being so nice for no reason, I just can't. I'm fed up and it's time to do something about it.
I walk to dad office room and the farthest end of the corridor. I've never gone against his words but I think it's about time I do. I come to the door and stand there for a while preparing myself.
