When I woke up the next morning, it was storming outside. I listened to the rain tapping against the window next to me and yawned, trying to rub the sleep out of my eyes. After about ten minutes, I managed to drag myself out of bed to get ready for the day. I was brushing my teeth, half asleep, and heard a knock so I went to open my bedroom door. Colby started to say something but stopped when he saw me, cringing at my disheveled state. My sheer embarrassment woke me up and I wiped off my mouth. "Yes?"

Colby shook his head and sighed. "We need to head out. Lacy was walking in Shamokin today and came across a store manager she couldn't find on her radar. So Audrey thought you should go on your first mission."

"Her radar?"

"Yeah, her vision. Lacy didn't see him, which means he's a Bounty."

I yawned, scratching my head. "Alright, give me an hour."

"You get twenty minutes." He walked away and I changed quickly, then headed down to the gear room. I'd never seen the gear before but I had my gun and knives with me.

"Daniel, this way." Carly, a heftier woman in her forties and also Travis' wife, called. I went over and she held up a folded heap of black fabric for me. "Here, put it on. Your clothes go over it. But leave your boxers on."

"Where's the locker room?"

"Go in there." She pointed to a door behind me. "Not like I want to see anything. Get moving."

"Yes ma'am."

Carly cringed. "You're making me feel old, just call me Carly."

"Okay, Carly." Carly walked away and I felt the fabric in my hands. I felt how cool and light the thick fabric was. It was at least a quarter of an inch thick, and it was stretchy like elastic. I found the collar of the fabric and held it, letting the rest of the fabric fall in front of me. Apparently it was an all black jump suit.

I went into the dressing room and put it on, feeling like I was dressed in a wet suit because of how form fitting it was. It went halfway up my neck and left my hands bare. The feet had memory foam in them to make your steps silent. The fabric breathed and felt like a comfortable tightness, not restricting in the wrong places. I zipped up the back and noticed the fabric was made out of links, basically. The black material appeared to be chain mail links like old armor, but it was still just fabric. I heard a wolf whistle in front of me.

"Looking good there, Daniel," Henry teased with a wink. I realized that though it felt loose, the suit still hugged pretty tight, so I put on my pants and shirt as quickly as I could.

"So what's with this gear? Just like a wet suit or something?"

Henry shook his head, handing me a granola bar while he ate one. "No, the fabric is bullet proof, waterproof, and it holds in body heat. It also neutralizes your energy signal low enough so you don't attract any unwanted attention."

"No way can it be-." Henry took his gun out and before I could even panic, he shot me in the leg. I will admit I screamed, but it feels kind of scary to get shot at. I fell over, the pain so bad that my leg went dead. And I dropped my granola bar.

"Yeah it is. See? I just proved it."

I looked up at him as the feeling came back to my leg. "I was going to say waterproof," I growled through my teeth.

"Whoops, my bad. Well now you know for sure." He helped me sit on the bench and got me an ice pack. I picked up my granola bar and ate it while he apologized.

Travis stomped into the room, looking furious. He picked up the spent bullet and held it up. "Who fired this?" Lucas pointed to Henry who went wide eyed at the betrayal.
