Katsuki sat next to his parents in the hospital emergency room just waiting to hear about Izuku's condition. The greenette had been airlifted after being fished out of the frigid ocean water after having jumped off a high cliff to escape his captor. Izuku had been unresponsive. His pulse had been dangerously weak and he even flat lined once in route to the hospital. Thankfully the medics were able to restart his heart, but Izuku was far from being out of the woods.

"What the fuck is taking so long?!" Katsuki grumbled nervously shaking his knee.

They had been waiting for over three hours with no word from any of the doctors or nurses. The staff assured them that when they had news they would be the first to know. Katsuki got up and paced back and forth for the hundredth time. Mitsuki's eyes were starting to twitch watching her son driving himself mad. "Fuck it" she thought rooting around inside her purse. She grabbed a cloth tissue and a small black bottle. She sprinkled a little bit of the liquid onto the napkin and walked up behind her son. "Mitsuki!" she heard her husband gasp.

She paid her husband no mind, placing the cloth over her son's nose and mouth. "There you go" she crooned as her large son slumped down onto the floor. "Help me get our brat onto the sofa".

Masaru grabbed Katsuki's feet glaring at his wife. "I can't believe you just chloroformed our son! Why do you even have that in your purse?!".

"Tch. I knew our brat was going to lose it and he needs to rest. We'll still be here for a few hours".

"He'll be pissed off if there is news and he missed it because you drugged him".

"Please, he'll be up in less than an hour. There is no way we'll get any news by then". Masaru looked over at his son and back at his wife shaking his head. He doesn't know how he hasn't completely lost his marbles because of this family.

It was a very angry blonde who awoke a bit over an hour later, he was about to rage at his mother when a doctor came out walking over to them. "You here for Izuku Midoriya?". The three nodded eagerly. "We have him stabilized, he sustained a few major injuries. He's comfortable right now but......

"But what? Spit it out, Doc!".

"Mr. Midoriya is in a coma" he held up his hand to stop them knowing the questions that would be coming shortly. "Although Coma is a scary word, I assure you it's what's best for Mr. Midoriya. He sustained a spinal injury, broken arm, shoulder and both legs were sprained badly, along with a deep cut to the head caused by broken glass. If he were to be awake, he would be in agony. Any movement at all could cause convulsions. It's better that his body be unable to move for a few days. Chances are very good that he will wake up soon".

"Izuku" Katsuki's lip quivered. He looked over at his father with watery eyes, the older man quickly taking his son in his arms letting him unload his grief and worry.

Mitsuki squared up her shoulders to ask the heavy questions "This spinal injury, how bad are we talking? Wheelchair bound? Permanent damage?".

"We can't say for sure, but after looking at the x-rays we think he will be able to walk again, but it won't be for a while. He will need lots of physical therapy to recover completely. Each body is different, but it will be a good six months before he can walk on his own".

"Well that's good news! I'll make sure he has the best physical therapist the military provides. He'll be up in no time".

"When..when can I see him?" Katsuki asked wiping his eyes on his sleeve.

"Are you family? Because only immediate family members may see the patient at this time".

"He's my boyfriend. I'm gonna fucking marry that nerd. If that doesn't make me family, I don't know what does!".

"I'm sorry, but according to the law, unless you are married, a sibling or parents, you can't visit yet". The doctor quickly walked away knowing he was going to be argued with.

"I can't fucking believe I can't be with my boyfriend! I need to be with him mom!". Katsuki was starting to panic again. He needed to look at Izuku, he needed to fill up his eyes with him so that he knows that little shit is really still alive.

"I can help with that" a quiet, sweet, shy sounding voice spoke from behind them. The Bakugo's all turned around to face a petite woman with forest green hair and emerald green eyes. Those jade orbs looked into swollen crimson "You must be the wonderful, great, Kacchan I've been hearing so much about. I'm Inko Midoriya".

Katsuki gathered the tiny woman in his arms, his body shaking with silent sobs. "It's all my fault. I should have gone with him. I should have told him to quit that stupid show sooner".

"Sshhh" Mitsuki crooned holding Katsuki just as tightly as he was holding her. "None of this is your fault. The only thing that matters right now is being there for Izuku. You need to be strong for him".

"I hate that we had to meet for the first time in such a fucked up way" he sighed heavily gesturing around the room.

"Me too, Son. I really should go speak to the doctor and I'll make sure that you are allowed in to see Izuku". Katsuki thanked her and watched the petite woman walk away to find her son's doctor.

At long last Katsuki was ushered in the ICU where he would be allowed to visit for an hour. Visiting hours were almost over for the day and they made no exceptions for anybody. Katsuki was thankful for every second he was given. The blonde could barely contain his rage as his eyes landed on his boyfriends bandaged body. Izuku's tiny body looked even more so wrapped in white bandages.

Katsuki pushed his chair to the side of the bed and gently held his boyfriend's hand. He leaned down and peppered it with kisses. "I'm here, Freckles. I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner. I'm sorry you had to go through what you did. I'm so sorry I let you down. I'm supposed to protect you. Fine fucking boyfriend I am. Fuck!".

Bakugo couldn't even look at Izuku's face. The shame and guilt he felt was overwhelming. He tried not to cry, he didn't want Izuku to hear him. Even though the greenette is in a coma, Katsuki had heard that some patients can still hear you.

Instead he held that small hand in his and sang in a broken voice "I want you to ruin my life, you to ruin my life, yeah, I want you to fuck up my nights, yeah, fuck up my nights, yeah, all of my nights yeah. I want you to bring it all on if you make it all wrong, then I'll make it all right yeah. I want you to ruin my life, you to ruin my life, you to ruin my life. You set fire to my world, couldn't handle the heat now I'm sleeping alone and I'm starting to freeze. Baby, come bring me hell let it rain over me. Baby come back to me. Baby come back to me".

"Come the fuck back to me, Freckles. I fucking miss those gorgeous eyes. I miss you sassing off to me". The tears fell, he could no longer hold them in. "I need you to hold me, ya damn nerd. I need you smile at me and tell me you're gonna be fine. Please, Baby. I have too many fucking plans for us. Vacations n shit. I'll even go hiking with you. You hear me? I'll shit in the damn woods with you and sleep under the stars and be scared off by bears n shit".

"You know what?" Katsuki said wiping his eyes on the back of his hand. He knew if he kept talking he would break down again so instead, he brought out his cell phone and opened his Netflix app. "Every time you felt down you always watch that Jim Gaffigan special, the one with the Hot Pocket bit. You laugh every damn time. How about we watch that together for a while?". Katsuki played the comedy special making smart remarks the entire time knowing it always made the greenette laugh harder. Too soon it was time for the blonde to leave. He hated leaving, but he didn't have a choice. "I'll be here as soon as I can, Freckles. I love you, Izuku. I love you so much".
