"Fucking kill yourself Zane! " yelled Roy, watching them run away with a box full of half broken chalk (From Zane themselves, not actually in the book yet :0)
"Hey I'm so sorry about my friend, you seem pretty cool, definitely not a loser" The kid who apparently goes by Robert, said to Zane as he rubbed the back of his neck. Zane smiled and waved him off "Oh it's ok. And thanks!... I think" they replied as Evelyn grinned at then, who got a elbow to the side in response. "No problem! Hey do you go here? Id love to hang out and get to know you, i-if you're ok with that of course!" Robert mumbled out with a smile. Zane smiled and nodded "Yeah, I go here. And uh, yeah, it would be nice hang out" they shrugged as Roberts smile grew brighter. "Great! I'll see you later, uh, bye" he said, running off to his two friends who were currently bickering back and fourth. Zane watched the blonde boy run off as Evelyn grinned, patting Zane's back "aww, look at that, how sweet" they hummed, wiggling their eye brows as Zane covered their face and groaned. They really needed new friends.
Zane and Evelyn walked the sidewalk as Evelyn went on about Invader Zim, Zane listening with little interest since Evelyn had lost them halfway through. Eventually they arrived at Evelyn's house, Zane waving goodbye to them as they yelled out a goodbye/love you before running inside. Zane shifted their book bag as they continued walking to their home, eventually reaching their destination. They walked inside and threw their book bag down, walking to their room and closing the door. Their father wasn't home, no shocker there, he was still at work, so they just decided to take a nap until he arrived.
Eventually a door was opened and shut as Zane proper up on their bed, getting up and opening the door to see their dad walking through the living room. Zane beamed as they ran up and hugged him "Hi dad" they hummed as he muttered a hello back before speaking "I'll make dinner tonight, pasta ok?" He questioned as Zane gave a nod in response. Their dad smiled and walked off to the kitchen, Zane eventually following to help out.
After a good dinner with their father and the essential shower, they laid out their clothing for the next day and flopped on the bed, tired from the day already, and before they knew it, they fell asleep.
The next morning wasn't anything special, wake up, shower, get ready, eat breakfast and leave. And that's exactly what Zane did. They grabbed their phone right before leaving and called out to their dad a good bye before walking out into the crisp air. Right there stood Evelyn, headphones in scrolling through useless feed as Zane walked to them and tapped their shoulder. She smiled and unplugged her headphones, stuffing them into her bag before grinning "Let's go, I bet you're dying to see your new frriieennddd" Evelyn chimed out, singing the word friend as Zane rolled their eyes, walking faster to leave behind their friend as they laughed. Eventually they made it to their dreaded school as they walked inside together, looking around to see most kids hanging around their lockers cheating with others or making out in the corners, usual though. They made their way to their lockers until they heard a familiar, annoying voice.
"No fucking way"
Zane turned their head along with Ev as they laid eyes on the short bully from yesterday. Apparently they didn't recognize them when they first met since they never really paid attention to people around them when going to their lockers. Zane heard Evelyn mumble a "You gotta be fucking kidding me" before she slammed her head into the locker. Zane turned their body, facing the bully as they held their books and stuff close to their chest as they glared "Oh, hi." They muttered as the bully rolled his eyes "Hey, Loser. What, couldn't get enough of me from yesterday?" He joked as Zane rolled their eyes, turning back to their locker "oh no, trust me I'm beyond tired of you" they mumble as the boy scoffed. Eventually They heard another familiar voice speak out "Cmon, Roy, leave them alone they didn't do anything wrong" it was Robert. "They hit me!" The boy named Roy apparently, snapped back. Evelyn grinned and walked beside Zane, leaning against them to watch as Robert and Roy bickered back and fourth, their other beanie friend sometimes trying to step in and stop the arguement but failing and stepping back down. Eventually though, he got tired and pushed both boys away from each other, muttering a "shut up" as he looked between the two of them. Roy seemed far over the conversation and scoffed, opening his locker, grabbing something and slamming it shut, walking off as his friends watched. Robert sighed as he looked back to Zane "Again, so sorry. He'll warm up eventually to you, I'm sure of it" he sighed as Zane just smiled and shrugged "It doesn't bother me much" they mentioned. Robert smiled nervously before rubbing his arm and speaking "What class do you have, maybe I could walk you there?" He suggested as Zane smiled. "Art, I have art next" they mentioned as Roberts expression lit up "I have science and my classrooms beside arts, that's perfect!" He exclaimed with a smile before motioning for Zane to walk beside him. They glanced to Evelyn, seeing her staring at the beanie boy who played on his phone as they grinned, walking up beside Robert. Ev was too busy gazing at Roberts friend, so she won't notice their gone. Robert grinned and started walking along with Zane as they struck up a conversation about... Stickers.
