"Get back here you simp!"
"No, you'll never catch me!"

Two teenagers ran past the school and onto the sidewalks of the town they lived in. One with black hair, great sense of style, and covered in stickers. The other was a brunette, comfortable in clothing that had a nice pair of sunglasses rested utop their head. These two were friends, who seemed to have fun when around one another.

It was cold outside with the winter season approaching, so kids all around were getting more bundled up as their parents mostly stayed inside or got to work as quick as they could to avoid the frosty air. And today happened to be a day where a certain person would meet what some people may call a soul mate, and others a person you'll never find anywhere else, but nonetheless, they found a very special person.

Zane was a normal teenage kid. They were quiet in school and usually didn't speak out much. They enjoyed art and writing and almost always could be found covered in loads of stickers, or covered in ink. Today, Zane was just enjoying a book on their phone as they sat on the bench outside of school, waiting for their friend to get out so they could walk home together. Everything was fine as they read along until

Smack

A small item came into collision with Zane's head, causing a slight pain as they rubbed their head and looked up, only to see three people around their age standing a bit away from them. 1/3 of the kids were laughing, the other two seemed to be torn between laughing, and being concerned for the person they just hit. Zane leaned down to see a small rock had been what hit their head, but they only shook their head and leaned back up, turning their attention back to their phone. Soon, a shadow clouded over Zane as they looked up from the story they oh so wanted to continue. A kid, Zane's age with brown hair and sunglasses stood in front of Zane with a shit eating grin as she hummed happily "Hey Zanneee whatcha reading?" The kid questioned.

Zane and the girl talked for a while, mostly talking about some fandom they were in or a good book until Zane mentioned the rock, and the three kids. Once they did, their friend took hold of the rock and stood, holding their hand out with a grin "Then let's return this rock" they hissed as Zane panicked slightly, but nodded. The girl and Zane snuck behind a tree close to the group as the girl handed Zane the rock and pointed to one of the three kids, who wore a blue cap, orange and Yellow shirt along with black pants and had brown hair. Zane hesitantly threw the rock as it made a small clunk against the kids head. Zane's friend burst into giggles as Zane stiffled a laugh, only to freeze up and go quiet when the kid turned to them with a glare, clenching the rock in his hand he had seemingly picked up from when it hit him, his tell friends also turning their attention to the two who stood behind the tree.

"Who the hell are you" the shortest kid spoke out, rock still clenched tightly in his hand. The two behind the tree didn't speak for a long minute until Zane spoke up "Zane, my names Zane." They said quietly before elbowing their friend to speak, which took a minute before doing so "I'm uh, Evelyn" is all they said before shrinking away a bit. "Well Zane and Evelyn. You two just earned a ticket to being bullied everyday. Good job losers" he scoffed as Zane spoke up "But you guys threw it first" they stated as the kid rolled his eyes "Yeah, we do that. Doesn't mean you have permission to do it back!" He snapped at the two. At this point, the kids friends seemed to want to back out of this argument that they weren't even really in. Zane was about to say something else until the kids friend, the tallest with blonde hair and a green zipped up jacket, spoke up. "How about you both say sorry and make up?"

"Ew im not apologizing to a loser!-" The short kid exclaimed, only to be shut up by Zane hitting him utop the head. The kid stammered out as he held the top of his head before exclaiming "OW-" he yelled out as Zane backed up, laughing their ass off. The taller kid laughed a bit followed by a snicker from the beanie kid as their friend backed up, still rubbing his head. Evelyn sighed, placing a hand on Zane's shoulder and pulling them away as the kid cursed out at Zane. Zane and Evelyn both snicketed as they walked off until a tall shadow looked over the two and tapped Zane's shoulder gently. "Yeah?" Zane questioned while turning around.
