{Small time skip}
"I've known them for over 3 months now. Do you think I should tell them?"
Robert sat at the end of his bed with his head in his hands as Ross and Roy sat on either side of him, patting his back in comfort as he wallowed in self concern. "I think, you should go for it man" Ross spoke quietly, shrugging. Robert looked up as he sighed "Ross, you're right. I'm going to tell them" he stated firmly while slowly standing, before slumping back down in defeat "But I can't! I don't know if they feel the same, they probably don't. I'm probably being a total idiot" he whined out as Ross went back to comforting him. As Robert whined, Roy stood and looked directly at Robert, hand on his shoulder "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Ross. You should tell them. Even though I hate them and think they should d i e, I think their a good match for you" he sighed, sitting back down as Robert watched him carefully. Eventually, he sighed "You guys are right. I'm going to tell them this afternoon, I'm tired of hiding it" Robert said, standing with a confidence boost he knew would screw him over later.
It took a while, but Robert eventually got the courage to walk out of the house and over to Zanes, his friends behind him the whole time. Once they reached Zane's house, Roy and Ross took it as their cue to sneak into the bushes as Robert made his way to the door.
With a knock, a taller male answered the door, short hair, and looked to have a apron on as he said in a low groggy voice "Yes?" He questioned as Robert felt himself stiffen.
"May I see your child? I would like to talk to them" Robert squeaked out. The man glared at him for a solid minute before yelling Zane's name and moving aside from the door.
A moment later, Zane's appeared from the stairs in a hoodie and pants as they took one look at Robert, and their cheeks flushed red as they quickly sprinted the rest of the way and shut the door behind them. Once they were outside, they looked to Robert and smiled nervously "Sorry if my dad said anything weird. Uh, what are you doing here?" They questioned nervously as Robert fiddled with the zipper of his coat. "Uh, well, I was thinking about it, and after some chats with my friends, I decided to come clean" Robert mumbled, part of his jacket muffling his words, making it harder to hear. Zane tilted their head as they got closer "Sorry, could you speak up?" They questioned. Robert didn't have a better way to do anything, so he simply took Zane by the hand and smiled "Zane, you are a dear friend to me. But I've started to notice I feel a bit more towards you then just plain friendship. I think I'm starting to, yknow, like like you, or what they call, fall for you" Robert said, squeezing their hand tightly.
Zane didn't say anything for a few moments, they were still comprehending it. Before they could answer, Robert spoke again "I-If you aren't ready for a relationship or don't feel the same, that's completely ok! W-we can wait, or we can stay friends!" He exclaimed in a panicky tone. Zane finally snapped into reality as they chuckled lightly, pulling Robert into a tight hug as they mumbled "I like you too Robert, I don't know how my future may be, but I'd be glad to have you in it, as long as we can take it slow" they finished before pulling away. Roberts face showed nothing but happiness as he smiled, nodding quickly "Yes, of course we can take it slow! I wouldn't want to push anything on you, I'm so glad you feel the same way!" He excialmed quickly, pulling them into another hug.
Zane couldn't do anything but smile as they hugged back, letting the hug last before finally pulling away. "I'll see you tomorrow Robert, get plenty of rest" they said after a small conversation was held between the two. Robert nodded and bid them goodnight before running back to his friends, grinning like a idiot as his friends both congratulated him, although Ross seemed more excited then Roy, who still currently hated Zane. But he was still proud of his friend nonetheless.
As the night ended out, Robert and Zane grew closer, their relationship stronger then before. And it only held more great things for them.
