"You did what?! Woah, you finally grew some confidence balls, good for you"

Evelyn laughed as she wrapped her arms around Zane, who sat there questioning their life choices. "Oh, and there he is now~" Zane's friend cooed. Zane's head snapped in the direction in front of them, only to see the blonde headed kid with his two friends. Zane mentally prepared themself as they saw Robert notice them and run over, waving. Zane waved back as Robert came to a stop in front of the two friends, his smile as big as ever as he leaned down slightly to face Zane properly, who was sitting on the usual bench. "Hey Zane, so nice to see you again. Thanks again for coming last night, I had a great time with you!" He exclaimed as Zane nodded with a smile "No problem Robert, thanks for taking me" they responded.

Zane and Robert chatted for a bit as Roberts friends eventually trailed over to them, Roy and the Beanie boy, who Evelyn found out was named Ross. Eventually, Evelyn left the scene to go home as Zane and Robert continued to chat until Zane spoke up out of topic "Would you uh, wanna hang out at the park or something later?" They questioned. Robert happily nodded "Yeah of course! Anytime with you seems to be way better then being at home" Robert said, shrugging as Zane swore their heart stopped for a second. They smiled and clapped quietly "Oh yay, wanna go ahead?" They questioned. Robert nodded before pausing "Lemme talk to my friends for a quick second" he said before pushing his friends slightly away from Zane and talking in a low voice Zane painfully had to admit wasn't quiet at all.

"You guys, do you think I should do it? Should I give it to them?"
"Yeah dude, I think they'd like it"
"What if they don't? What if they hate it"
"Who cares what the loser thinks, just do it. If they reject it or hate it, we'll gladly take their head off"
"W-what... Roy, please no"
"Psh, you're never any fun"

Robert groaned and walked back over to Zane, rubbing his neck awkwardly "Sorry for the wait, wanna go now?" He questioned while holding his hand out nervously, not sure if they'd take it. Zane smiled, gladly taking his hand as they nodded "Yeah, let's go." They simply said as Robert smiled and led the way to a nearby park in town, one that he used to take his sister to.

Once in the park, Zane and Robert walked around for a little while on the sidewalk, chatting about small things. Zane however, couldn't help but notice Robert fiddling around with something in his pocket a lot. They didn't want to ask, but it seemed suspicious. Eventually, the two settled on a park bench under the shade of a tree, still talking about whatever topic they were on at the moment until Robert spoke up "Hey, Zane. You know, I've only known you for a couple days now, but I feel like you're my best friend already, so I wanted to give you a small thank you gift" he muttered. Zane perked up as they smiled "You didn't have to get me a gi-" they were cut off short by a small wrapped box being shoved into their hands "I know I didn't have to, but I really wanted to, and I would be so happy if you opened it" Robert finished in quick words, quickly retracting back into the bench as if he were shrinking away from their reaction. Zane observed Robert for a moment more before turning their gaze to the box that was still held in their arms. With nothing to lose they carefully unwrapped the gift, opening the Lord and gazing inside.

They gasped, it was so beautiful.
Inside the box were two bracelets and necklaces, two held colors of yellow, black, white and purple, the other two held an array of different colors. The charms on the bracelet of the first two were two stars, and a small lollipop charm. On the necklace, we're a frog and two hearts. One the second pair, the bracelet had two stars and a bubblegum charm, the necklace had two circles and a frog.

Zane held the box a moment more before looking up to Robert, who just smiled before speaking "Their friendship jewelry. The black, white, purple and yellow one if for you obviously, and the colorful one is for me! I thought you'd like them.." He finished as Zane broke into a bright smile, nodding in excitement. Zane handed Robert his two pieces as they took their own and out them on, Robert doing the same. Once the pieces were attached, Zane just admired them for a moment, smiling to themself as Robert watched them, happy that they seemed to enjoy the gift. It took a minute more before Zane pulled Robert into a tight hug while mumbling a thank you, and Robert did the same, his words 'You're welcome' coming after every one of Zane's thank you's.

For once, he didn't feel alone or rejected, and neither did Zane. Robert hadn't felt like this since he met the hatzgang, but he enjoyed the feeling, if only he could capture this moment in time and hold it there. They wanted to mesmerize everything, the time, the season, the weather, and them. He wanted to keep them happy like this forever, he wanted to see their smile like this as long as he could. And it was funny, he knew this feeling all too well, but something told him to be quiet and not say a word about it, as if it would scare them away. And so he did. He kept quiet as Zane admired their gift some more before watching everyone else in the park, then watching the sky. He wanted to tell them so many words, but nothing came out. It was just his breathing that made it past his lips. And so he left it as is, he just took his time and admired them for as long as he could. There wasn't anything better he'd want to do right now anyways, this was perfect anyways, this was Just right.
