"No. Fucking. Way"
Evelyn gasped, seeing her best friend and Robert standing hand in hand in front of her. "Eve, please don't freak out, but yes way-" Zane stated while fidgeting a bit as Robert simply stood there quietly. Zane's supposed friend stood in front of them, surprised. He wasn't scared about that though, he was scared about the fact she had a pocket knife attached to her pants, and he's had his fair share of protective friends... *Cough* Roy *Cough*
After a little chat between Evelyn and Zane, Evelyn smiled and shook Roberts hand, basically saying she approved and wouldn't try to kill him. After all it was over, Zane turned to Robert and smiled "Great, now, my dad.." They muttered. Robert froze up hearing Zane mention their dad. He had seen him once on the night he first confessed, and their dad didnt look like someone you wanted to mess with, so this had to be planned perfectly if he wanted to make it out alive. Zane tugged a bit on Roberts shirt to snap him out of his trance as Robert snapped back into reality and turned to them. "You ok, Rob? We don't have to go-" "no no I'm ok! Let's go" Robert quickly interrupted. Zane eyed him suspiciously for a moment before nodding and pulling him with them to walk in the direction of their house.
After a long walk filled with silent panic, the two eventually arrived at Zane's house once more. Zane let go of Roberts hand and rushed inside to get their father, who was hopefully home from his work as they left Robert outside to wait. After about 7 minutes, the man Robert saw in his nightmares stepped outside with Zane beside him. "Dad, this is Robert, my uh, boyfriend?" They said almost unsure about if they were saying the right thing. Robert nodded and waved awkwardly to Zane's father as he held his hand out "Nice to meet you sir" he spoke out in a confident tone, hoping to mask his sheer terror. Zane's dad glanced to Roberts hand, then to his face as he reached and held a firm grip on Roberts hand, shaking it slowly "Nice to meet you too. I hope you're willing to know the risks of dating my child" he stated in a firm voice as Robert simply nodded "Yes sir. I'll take care of them and never dare hurt them" Robert stated as Zane's father leaned close to him, his glare hard "That's the bare minimum I expect" he hissed before letting go and walking to his child and giving them a light kiss on the head as he mumbled a few words to them, earning a nod in response.
Zane walked to Roberts side, patting his shoulder lightly "He approves of you for now" they sighed with a smile as Roberts expression softened a bit "Oh great, that's very great to hear" he sighed with a smile before hugging tightly onto Zane, smiling like an idiot "Thank you so much Zane, like I said to him, I'll promise to be the best and never let you get hurt" he stated with a smile as Zane sighed, shaking their head as they chuckled "Thank you too Robert, I'll do the same for you" they sighed, grabbing ahold of his hand again as Robert beamed happily.
They started walking the sidewalk again, now it was time to break the news to Roberts friends. Zane wasn't too worried about Ross, but more towards Roy, for who knows how he'll react.
Zane's grip suddenly got slightly tighter on Roberts hand as he glanced to them to make sure they were ok. After seeing, he rubbed their back in comfort as he smiled "Hey don't worry, if I can survive your dad, you can survive Roy, it'll all be alright" he said as Zane nodded with a small smile "Yeah, all alright.."
