"Welcome home sweetie." Mom said as I went through the front door and hung up my backpack. "Hey mom. How's your day been?" I asked. "Great. How about yours?"It was really good. We learned some bird anatomy in science today." I said in response. "Sounds fun. Cade, why don't you head up to your room and change for supper?" mom said. "Kk" and I went upstairs.

I flopped down on my bed and winced at a pain in my back. I sit up and and take off my shirt and head to the mirror. I life up my bra strap a tiny bit and, right under and between each shoulder blade, there are two red spots about the length and width of my palms. I shrug it off and head down to supper and sit down with my mom at the diner table, chicken Alfredo and green beans on a plate infront of me. "Ummmmm. Looks really good." I said. "Glad you think so dear. Hey, your 14th birthday is in a week. Do you wanna do anything special?" Asked mom. "Hmmm, nothing in particular." I said after thinking for a second. " Are you sure?" She asked. "Yea." I said. After that we ate in silence and watched a nice movie. When it was finally over it was pretty late so we said goodnight and went to bed.
*CrAsH* I shoot upright and look around. There is a weird shadow in my window looking toward the sound. It looks back at me with green glowing eyes and knocks on the window. I'm hesitant but something about the urgency and gentleness in those green eyes tell me the stranger won't hurn me. I open the window and gasp. A boy about 14 or 15 with dust blond hair falls into my room but what shocked me was the green wings I seen flap around as he fell. I start to feel a little panicked. "W-who are you?" I asked. " I'm Grey and I'm here to help." He said. Another crash came from downstairs and then a scream. My eyes widen. "Mom." I whisper " come on Ry-Ry. Don't fail me now." And I black out.

Ry-Ry's POV

I hear Cade calling to me from outside of our body. I raced through the soft expanse of colors in her head and to her body. "Shhhh. I'm here. You can relax and I will take care of everything." I whispered soothingly as I put my hand on her forehead and slowly slid it down over her eyes and to the tip of her nose and she went slack in my arms. I gently put her to the side and took over our body. I looked around to asses the situation. Then I seen the boy approaching me. I summoned my crimson red wings and horns, my tail with a poisoned blade like spike on the end. "invoco sanctum Dei gladium." I mutter and pull a sword with glowing dark purple runic symbols engraved on it from a point just above the middle of our chest. " Back up." I said with as much venom as I could muster. "I told you I'm here to help and I mean it. I promise." He said. I flick my black forked tongue and hear a scream. "Our mother!" I said and start quickly heading downstairs. "Our? Do you have a sibling?" Asked the boy. "No." And when I seen the scene ant the foot of the stairs I was momentarily stunned. There was a man, only a year or so older than than the other, fighting a huge white monster with pitch black eyes and mouth oozing black sludge with mom in it's claws. I growled a feral growl and started swinging my sword and dancing around swinging my sword as carefully and skillfully as I possibly can so as not to hit mother. The monster screeched and it fell to it's knees bled black goo all over and it's hand holding mom fell limp to the floor, mom unconscious in it. They both stared at me. " We've come here to help you. You and your mother are in danger as long as you are here." Said the man that was fighting. " Hey. Don't talk to me talk to her." And I closed my eyes, letting Cade take control again.
