A Loss of Focus

Three months had passed since Blair decided she wouldn't let anything stop her from becoming a stronger hero. Ever since that fateful night against that old guy and his goons, Blair has been training day in and day out. Whenever she wasn't training with the turtles, she was training even harder by herself. When she had first started, the guys were going too easy on her, Blair wasn't progressing at all, but she noticed that as she's been improving with her individual training sessions that the guys have been going less easy on her in her group sessions as well. Maybe they think she's improving faster and so they can kick it up a notch? Blair wasn't sure, but she didn't really care what the reason was, she was just glad she was getting better practice in.

Blair had been tracking her progress by taking out the plugin hack that Donnie installed on the punching machine here and there and see her real score go up slowly, then she'd plug it back in and go again to reset it so they guys would never notice. She'd also be competing against the guys more often to track how much she was closing the gap between them.

By her calculations she had improved a massive amount and if she fought those goons she'd gone up against 3 months ago, today, the story would go a lot more different. They might still beat her but it definitely would not be as bad as it was. She had improved so much that the guys had actually opted to take her on more missions and night patrols. She'd accept sometimes, but only to study them. She'd watch their moves, tactics, and strategies closely, taking mental notes and trying to recreate some of the moves she saw later.

She'd learned a few new moves this way but she'd never really had anyone real to practice them on. She learned whatever they'd teach her in the normal training sessions but she didn't dare show them that she knew and had been practicing much harder moves. She didn't want to worry them with how quickly she was advancing and instead she was waiting until she was ready to prove to them that she was on their level. Until that day came though, she had to remain focused, and determined.

Little did Blair know, something was about to happen that would mess with that focus of hers.

That morning, when she woke up, she got ready and headed into the main room ready to train, but instead no one was there. Instead, Blair heard noises coming from the TV room. She grabbed a banana from the kitchen then investigated the noise. She saw April and the guys crowded around a machine in front of the projector.

"What's going on?" She asked before taking a bite of her banana.

"oh oh oh. Blair! April brought over a karaoke machine!" Mikey exclaimed.

Blair swallowed her bite of banana and raised an eyebrow, "A karaoke machine? What about training?" She questioned.

Leo shrugged, "We gotta take a break from training sometimes. If we keep going nonstop then we'll get burnt out. So we decided today would be dedicated to some relaxation and fun."

April grabbed one the microphones and held it out to Blair, "Wanna join me for a duet, Blair?"

Blair took another bite of  her banana and swallowed, "Uh, nah. I'm good." Blair declined, "I think I'm just gonna go and practice my stances if we aren't doing group training today."

Mikey wrapped himself around Blair, "Aw, come onnn. You need to take a break too. Join us! Join us!"

Suddenly all the guys and April were chanting. "Join us! Join us! Join us!"

Blair, with her arms crossed and unamused took the last bite of her banana and tossed the peel in the trash can a few feet away. She took one last look the at group still chanting and sighed, "hmm, fine."

The group cheered and the all gathered around the machine, deciding on which songs they'd do.

"ya knowww, we could really use some snacks too." Leo slyly mentioned.
