Chapter 23 ~ Reunited

"Heldron root?" Terra asked Sam on the phone

"Pretty sure he's tried it" Sam replied

"Can you remember what the bites on Devin looked like?" Terra asked "Multiple incisions, pattern? Might narrow it down."

"It doesn't matter. This is a useless exercise, Dad already said he won't let you help."

"Well I am very convincing" Terra smiled

"More so than Rosalind? Cause she was very clear no students were allowed near Devin. Dad won't do anything she doesn't approve of. Pathetic as that is" Sam said

"You need to lay off him," Terra said sternly

"And you need to get back to the school grounds, it's dangerous out there."

"I'll be done when I'm done," Terra said more sternly than last time ending the call

Sensing she was not alone Terra stood up cautiously and used her magic to grow big spikes of roots as protection.

"Whoever you are I'd come out very very slowly," Terra said

Then flowers started growing on the roots all around and laughter came from the distance, revealing a girl with brown curly hair and a colourful jacket on

Terra laughed "Flora?"

"Missed me?" Flora asked walking up to hug Terra

"Really, can I please convince all of you to stop being so helpful?" Flora said "I could have gone another six months without unpacking these"

"And then we'd find Terra at night with a head torch doing it all herself" Destiny laughed

"As I was saying" Terra smiled "Flora grew up all over, a bit of a wild lifestyle for my aunt and uncle's work."

"As wild as horticultural research follows can be" Flora continued

"So extremely" Musa replied

"And your cousins? Like actual cousins?" Aisha asked

"Uh, second cousins by marriage, but weirdly we both have the same crooked pinkies" Flora laughed

"Coffee?" Bloom said as Flora held up a bag of coffee grains

Bloom gasped "Flora you are saving my life"

"All my people in place, can't believe how lucky I am." Terra smiled

"Lucky is one word for our situation," Musa said

Destiny looked down at the ground.

"We do have a new and extremely
questionable headmistress," Bloom said

"And a curfew because of the missing twins and Blackbridge" Aisha added

"And the water pressure in the shower's honestly not great," Musa said

"Right and Devin," Destiny said looking up

Flora sighed "Terra told me what happened"

"That we have no idea what happened" Terra added

"That's not totally true," Destiny said looking at Terra and then turning to Flora "The last thing he said before he passed out was 'Rosalind'."

"But the bite marks are still a mystery. He's been unconscious since that night" Bloom said

"Have any of u seen him?" Flora asked

Musa sighed "Just one of us"
