Chapter 8

Meredith Grey

Derek gives me a quick kiss before he walks over to the door. I would follow but I can't move very well after what just happened. I hear the door open. "Mom? Dad?" I hear him say confused.

I want to get up and hide somewhere but I can't move. I groan and grab a pillow and cover my face with it. I hear some talking and then foot steps.

I cover myself and close my eyes wanting to disappear. "Derek why do you not have a girlfriend?" I hear a smaller voice, maybe it's Amelia.

"Do you really still have that picture of you and Meredith?" I ear his mothers voice I think.

"Yeah uhm about Meredith" he says.

"She's right here" I say softly taking the blankets and stuff off of me.

"Meredith, this is actually Meredith?" Christopher asks.

"Yes" I nod.

"Oh god" Carolyn smiles and rushes to me and hugs me.

I look over to Derek and he smiles softly at me.
I wrap my arms around her and I hug her back. "Oh we have missed you" Carolyn chuckles pulling away from me.

"Derek has been miserable" Christopher chuckles.

"Well I'm kind of irreplaceable" I giggle Derek walks over and sits next to me kissing my head.

"I don't really remember her" I hear Amelia whisper to her dad.

"Oh you loved Meredith you two were always together" Christopher chuckles.

"Hi Amelia" I smile softly at her.

She looks over at Derek who nods. She walks over to us and smiles softly. "Guys I have to tell you guys the truth" I say.

They look at me. "Amelia was always my favorite Shepherd" I confess.

"Rude" Derek says and Amelia laughs softly.

"Well it's true she always gave me the best cuddles and always cheered me up" I say.

"Better than me?" Derek pouts.

"Yeah you were a big bully" I say.

"I- I was not" he frowns.

"Amelia is my favorite shepherd" I say.

She walks up to me and gives me an unexpected hug. I smile and accept it. "She still is better especially at giving hugs" I say.

"Walk" he says.

"What?" I giggle.

"Stand up and walk around normally" he says.

I frown at him with a glare. "Im fine sitting here" I say.

"Yeah exactly, so before you go saying who your favorite Shepherd is remember what I can do to you" he says before getting up and walking away.

"Well then, someone is jealous" I say.

"Yeah Derek gets jealous pretty easily" Amelia says.

"I'll go get him" I sigh trying to stand up.

I stand up and I walk uncomfortably and awkwardly over to find Derek. "Derek you asshole! come here" I yell and in a few seconds he is by my side.

He picks me up and sets me on the counter. "Don't be so jealous baby" I say playing with his hair.

"You know I like you all to myself" He mumbles hiding his face in my stomach.

"Just like high school" I giggle.

"Meredith" he says looking at me.

"Yes my love?" I ask softly.

"I have an unhealthy obsession with you" he says.

"Hm you're obsessed with me?" I tease.

"So obsessed" he says.

"I'm obsessed with you too" I say kissing him softly.

He picks me up and I pull away as he carries me back to the living room.

He sits down with me on his lap and he snuggles his face in my neck. I catch up with his family and I begin to get close with Amelia.

My life is so amazing right now, I really don't want to change it at all.
