Chapter 14

Meredith Grey

Derek went out today with his team so I'm hanging out with Amelia because why not. "What do you want to do?" I ask her softly, her birthday was last week and I still have to get her a gift, I can't believe little Amy is already fourteen years old.

Derek and I have been together for six months already as well, time is going by so fast. Derek asked me to move in with him a month or so ago and it is been so great.

"I'm not sure" she shrugs sitting down next to me and she lays her head on my shoulder.

"Well tell me when you know" I say and she nods as I put Modern Family on, it's my favorite show Shitt's Creek coming in a close second.

About half way into the second episode we were watching Amy speaks up. "Want to go to the mall?" she asks softly.

"Yeah sure why not but let me call Derek real quick if we want to go to the mall" I wink at at her and she smiles brightly getting the hint.

I'm not a gold digger but I'm not super rich so I don't have as much money to spend at the mall and I want to be able to pay for most things Amelia wants.

I grab my phone and I dial Derek's number. I giggle as Amelia smirks at me.

"Hello my love"  his voice comes on from the other side of the line and my knees fall weak at the sound of his voice and then I feel a small amount of guilt but Amelia is staring at me with big eyes.

"Derek?" I ask my voice masked as sweet and soft. Amy does a small little jump and laughs I can just shake my head at her with a small smile.

"Yes, Meredith I thought you were hanging out with Amy today?" His voice has a hint of confusion.

"I am hanging out with Amy, and we wanted to go to the mall to celebrate her late birthday" I say nicely hinting the money thing towards him without actually asking.

"Is this about money?" he asks and I nod but then realize he can't hear me to then I respond with a yes.

"You have access to my money and you have the card, go wild just please don't make me go broke" I hear him chuckle softly and I give Amelia a thumbs yup with makes her jump with a happy shriek and Derek laughs more at that.

"Thank you Derek" I say sincerely.

Amelia takes the phone and basically yells a thank you into the speaker.

He says you're welcome before speaking to me again. "I love you Meredith have fun, enjoy yourself" he says in such a sweet tone making me blush and smile wide and even if he can't see me and I can't see him I know he knows my reaction.

"I love you too Derek, you have fun as well" I say softly a bit flushed.

"Goodbye my love"

I look at Amelia who is raising an eyebrow at me but with a wide smile. "Ready to go?" I ask and she rolls her eyes at me but nods.

"Let's go Meredith" she says grabbing my hand and leading me to my car.

This is going to be a long day but worth it.
