Amanda's POV:

The sweat dripped down my face inch by inch falling to the dirt by my cleats. I was getting ready to run towards second base. Mine and my best friend since fourth grade, Emma were in the state champion ships of girls softball. At least two more hits and my team would win.

Rebecca, the best girl on our team, stepped up onto the plate. I cheered her on, before the ball was pitched and Rebecca hit a line drive. Smiling, I ran to third base, and back to home plate. And as always, I slid so I wouldn't be called out.

Once the game was called, with my team winning by four runs, and our team high fived the other team, we were saying goodbye to each other and wishing each other a great summer. Which, I can't believe that school is already over, and I'm going to NYU.

"Okay so, we still haven't decided if we wanted pizza or frozen yogurt." Coach Peterson yelled above our chatter. I called out pizza while the rest of the girls called out frozen yogurt. So, it was decided then and there. We were going to have frozen yogurt.

"Actually I should really get going. I'm sorry I can't join you, but my mom just got back from a trip, and I really should see her." I apologized, noticing the time. Emma pouted and called me a bully. Laughing, I grabbed my softball stuff and headed out the door.

I had finally gotten home and I called out for her. My mother, Tailia, is a teacher so she doesn't make much money, so instead of getting a big house with a whole lot of bills, we got a small house so we could afford more food. But, she went to London with her friends over the weekend, because her friends insisted. And they decided to pay for her, so who wouldn't accept that?

"Oh! Amanda! I have such good news! Come into the kitchen!" My mother called back. I laughed a little and walked into the kitchen and as I stepped in my mom blurted out her good news, "Amanda I got you tickets to London!"

"Mom, what? How'd you do that?" I asked her, in complete shock. I did not see this coming. We never had enough money to get any thing, not even a decent TV, so this I didn't even see coming. So of course I was curious.

"Well, I met a guy in England, and he just so happened to charm me and well, one thing led to another and—anyway, we were talking and I told him I could never visit him, because of financial problems, and well one thing led to another and he gave me some extra cash, enough for two tickets, so I spent some of the money on you. I wanted to give you one last summer before you are a collage girl." My mom said. I smiled and hugged her.

--

Two days later I arrived in London. The weather was cool. It was much cooler then it is in Connecticut. So, once I stepped out of the airport, goosebumps ran over my arms and legs. Hopefully the weather will clear out as the summer goes by.

My mom gave me directions to a inn, the Shuckton Inn, so I started on my way. Arriving, I went over to the check-in counter and asked for my reservation, another thing my mom had planned out. The check-in person read me my number and gave me my room key.

I walked into the elevator and pressed the floor number that my room was in. It only took about a minute, but it was pure torture. I hated elevators with a burning passion. That feeling you get in your stomach when the elevator lurches, the worst.

Using my key card, I opened up the door and walked in, dragging my suitcase along. The sounds of voices stopping me. "Hello?" I called out. I heard a few gasps and then my two best friends rounded the corner.

"Nikki? Emma?" I said not believing my eyes. They both squealed and wrapped their arms around me. Dropping my suitcase, I hugged them back. I did not know my mom, Mrs. Reed or Mrs. Garratt were planning any of this.

"Yeah! Our parents planned this! Oh my God guys, we have to go check out London. This is my dream place. I'm not going to be wasting all my time in London here in an Inn. Come on, we can worry about unpacking later, let's go!" Nikki said all in one breath, pulling us towards the door.

Laughing, I said, "Okay, okay. Let me just put my suitcase in my room." I left without letting them answer. I put my suitcase in the last room that was available. With one last glance, I left the room and followed my two best friends out the door.

--

"Hey guys, do you want to hear a really good joke?" Nikki asked as we left a vintage shop. I groaned; Nikki is horrible at telling jokes. She knows we think her jokes are horrible, but she still says them nonetheless.

"Sure." I said, rubbing my temples. Emma nodded, shaking her head a bit as if to say 'I can't believe I'm agreeing to this.' I laughed a bit as Nikki took a deep breath and said her joke with a smile on her face.

"Where did Little Susie go after the explosion happened?" Nikki asked and I mentally groaned. This will not end well. I can already tell it's a vulgar joke just by the question. I do not want to know the answer to this, but knowing Nikki, she'd tells us anyway.

"Everywhere." Nikki answered without letting Emma and I even guess. My eyes widened in shock. I knew it was going to be vulgar, but not that vulgar. I shook my head at her while Emma entered a totally different approach.

"Excuse me?" Emma asked, her eyes just as wide. Suddenly, I felt a warm liquid on my white T-Shirt along with a broad body. My eyes widened again as I took in the sight of my poor shirt that's now ruined

"Oh my God!" I practically shouted, "Oh my shirt!" Looking up, I saw a boy, probably 19, with blonde hair and his eyes were hidden behind sunglasses. There's something about the way he looks reminds me of someone though.

"I'm so unbelieveably sorry, love. Would you like me to repay you? I can, really. There's nowhere I'm supposed to be anyway. Um, you can't walk around in that wet T-Shirt. Here, let's get you a new shirt?" He said. I can't miss that familiar Irish accent even if I wanted to.
