The library was silent, the only sounds were an ink brush gliding on high quality paper.
Lan Wangji was copying scriptures like the prim and proper Lan that he was. His graceful and handsome features were illuminated by the sun rays peeking in through the windows.
His back was straight as an arrow as his brush glided across the paper, his face absolutely devoid of any emotion whatsoever. The perfect emulation of a model student, just like his uncle raised him to be.
Some would have assumed that he was completely incapable of feeling any emotions at all. Like he really was made out of pure white jade, like some sort of deity above mortal affairs.
It was the main reason why, despite his beauty, practically no one wanted to be around him.
He was just too intimidating and out of reach from everyone else. If people tried a little to be friends with him they would see that he wasn't all frosty.
But honestly, he was fine with not having friends. He didn't want to be friends with anyone... at least no one in Gusu that is.
His seeming cold eyes went across the paper; deeming it fit to be handed in.
Later that is, he had a few other things to attend to first.
Stepping out of the library doors, he elegantly sauntered back to his room, with one hand behind his back just like he always did.
Today was a rather good day in Wangji's opinion. The weather was good, not too hot or too cold, just right. Lectures weren't for another two months, and by that time everything had already been sorted out. Which meant there was no need to supervise any disciple on anything.
His brother was also away for a week on business, which left him all by himself. His uncle was far too busy with other things to bother looking for him as well. He preferred it this way. He was completely free for the rest of the day. He enjoyed being able to spend his free time the way he wanted to.
Arriving at the double doors of the Jingshi, he stepped inside.
Closing the doors behind him, his striking eyes scanned over his minimalistic and tidy room.
Going over to his bed, he crouched down to pull out a large box from underneath it.
Albeit, it was a rather obvious place to hide something that he didn't want to be found by anyone else, but hey.
He was Lan Wangji.
Why on earth would he of all people hide something under his bed?
Sliding the box out, he opened it to reveal a set of beautiful black and silver robes.
Carefully slipping off his Gusu robes and forehead ribbon, he changed into the robes.
Neatly folding his clothes, he placed them in a small cupboard.
Going over to a small little corner of his room, he took a good look in the mirror.
