5.6 Murder Mystery

The bathroom is full of fog. Hector is in the shower as the song 'kiss' by Prince is playing on a stereo in his room. As he's standing in the shower some blood washes off and goes down the drain. Hector doesn't mind it. He gets out of the shower and dries up a little bit before he wraps the towel around his waist and walks through the house back to his room.
"Hey, Hector! Where were you last night?" his father asks while Hector walks through the corridor.
"I was out" he says simply and walks into his room. When he's in his room he turns up the music and puts on some fancy clothes. He fixes his hair in front of the full sized mirror in his room before he sprays on some perfume. Then he walks downstairs and takes the keys to his fathers car before he leaves. He pulls up outside the vet clinic to pick up Tindra for their date.

At Richie's house, Elvis, Aiden and Richie are standing in front of Heyley's corpse on the bed.
"Definetely a monster" Elvis states.
"What kind though? None of the monsters are this big except for maybe a minotaur. But these are claw marks and bite marks, not hooves and horns" Aiden says and walks up to the side of the bed to point out the clawmarks and bitemarks.
"A lion?" Richie asks. Elvis walks up to the other side of the bed and inspects it.
"It would have to be a lion twice the normal size. And those clawmarks don't look like lion claws. They're thicker and closer together. But they're not as deep as lion claws can go." Elvis explains.
"Maybe it didn't hit properly" Richie suggests.
"Then it wouldn't be this thick. No, it definitely hit. It looks like it has grabbed onto her shoulders before it ripped her arms, steadily. And no lions mouth is that big. She barely has a stomach left, her insides are torn" Elvis looks up at Aiden.
"What do we think?" he asks and Aiden sighs.
"Harper? He's been on a rampage before" Aiden suggests.
"Harper never left the forest the last time. But it's absolutely on the table. What about Leo? He shows up and the next day there's a dead body" Elvis says.
"Possibly. You should talk to her. I'll talk to Hector" Aiden replies.
"I'll keep an eye open in the forest at night. Let the rest of your pack know we got a dead body" Elvis says and they leave the room.

Later that day Amanda and V are sitting in her room, talking.
"Hazel told me something. I think you deserve to know" V starts.
"Okay" Amanda nods.
"He's not trans. He's not a snake. He's Famine" V says slowly.
"What's Famine?" Amanda asks.
"One of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. He's the first one to arrive and the others are coming he said. I don't know how many of them already have bodies or how many of them will take over someone. Perhaps someone we know." V explains. "I'm telling you this because I believe maybe Hazel killed Hayley" he says quietly.
"Should I tell Aiden?" Amanda asks.
"I don't think you should tell your own alpha yet. Nor Elvis he can be a little violent when it comes to these things. You need to tell someone in power, but not too much power. Someone who's strong but can't make too drastic decisions. Someone you can trust to not tell anyone else and who will know the smartest thing to do." he tries to think of someone.
"An alpha without a pride. Elliot..." Amanda whispers.
"Call him. Tell him to come over without Hazel noticing it. Hopefully Hazel stays in the basement" V says as Amanda picks up her phone to call Elliot.

When Elliot has come over, they're sitting in Amanda's room talking about it.
"If what V says is true, I've seen Hazel before. He tried to kill Lola. At least I think he tried to kill her" Elliot says after Amanda has explained to him.
"Then it's him. It must be" she says and he stands up.
"We have to tell Elvis. Fast" he says and walks out. Amanda follows him.
"We can't take the car, my parents will know if it's gone and Hazel will ask where I am" Amanda says as she walks after him.
"We don't need a car. I'm faster. Get up" Elliot opens the front door and turns himself into a black lion when he steps out of the lawn. Amanda look toward the house before she climbs up on Elliot and V slowly fades out. Elliot runs with her on his back through the forest all the way to Elvis house. He stops outside and she gets off. Then he turns back into a human and opens the door to Elvis' house before they barge in. Elvis is standing in the kitchen on the phone with Aiden who tells him that Harper was home all day. Elvis hangs up the phone and turns to Elliot and Amanda.

He notices Elliot has seen something and is staring toward the livingroom. Sarah turns around on the couch and looks up at Elliot.
"She escaped the hunters six years ago and hid away until now." Elvis explains. Sarah stands up and Elliot walks up to her and hugs her tight. Elvis turns to Amanda.
"What do you got?" he asks.
"Hazel is not a snake. He's Famine. One of the four horsemen and they're all coming. Elliot saw Hazel trying to kill Lola" Amanda explains.
"Elliot!" Elliot turns to Elvis. "You need to confront him. Try to get the truth out of him. Why he would kill Hayley and why he would try to kill Lola" Elvis says and Elliot hugs Sarah goodbye.

He runs home again with Amanda on his back. Running along the road, they see a police car standing still with the lights on. Elliot slows down and walks up to it. Amanda gets off his back while they're walking and looks inside the police car. The officer Derryl is sitting in front of the wheel, dead. The other car door is open too and there's blood trails from the car to the side of the road and into the woods. Elliot turns back to his mundane form and picks up his phone.
"I'll send a message to Elvis" he says and takes a picture of the scene before he sends it to Elvis. He turns back and Amanda gets up again as Elliot keeps running back to Amanda's house.

When they're in the basement Amanda and V are standing behind Elliot who is talking to Hazel.
"So you admit to trying to kill Lola but not killing Hayley and officer Derryl Jackson?" Elliot asks.
"I am famine that's true. Lola has been a victim of eating disorders before. Killing her gives me stronger powers and a longer time on earth. I had no reason for killing Derryl nor Hayley. I had no idea they were dead. But yes, I did try to kill Lola" before he even finishes the sentence, Elliot slams him up against the wall, making him lose his breath and leaving a crack in the wall from where his back hit to the ceiling. Amanda jumps a little in fear and Hazel starts coughing a little.
"Right. You're strong" Hazel is reminded.
"Yep" Elliot raises his eyebrows and tilts his head for a second. Amanda gets a phonecall from Elvis and goes out of the room to answer.
"Hello?" she answers.
"I found the second cop in the woods. Also dead. And I found someone else too. At the train station" Elvis pauses and breathes. "Is Elliot there with you?" he asks.
"Not in the same room. Do you want to talk to him?" Amanda asks getting worried.
"No. I don't want him to find out like this"
"Elvis, what happened?" she asks. Elvis is standing on the train station outside the main house with tears in his eyes.
"Henry's dead" he says with a breaking voice. Amanda hangs up right away and goes back to Elliot.
"Elliot, it's not him!" she calls right as Elliot is about to cut Hazel's throat. Elliot turns to him.
"He still tried to kill Lola"
"Elliot your brother needs you. He is at the train station" Elliot still focuses on Hazel. "It's about Henry" she says and he lets Hazel go.
"You stay here" he says looking at Hazel and then he walks out with Amanda and V.

Sarah is sitting at home on Elvis' couch. She stands up and gets three meatballs from the fridge. She walks over to the backdoor and opens it. She sticks out her hand and some kind of giant beast eats the meatballs from her hand.
"Good kill" she says quietly to the beast.
