5.5 A new little brother Pt2

The next day Leo and Nellie are sitting in Nellie's car outside the school. Leo looks at the school through the window. Nellie notices his look and keeps her eyes on him.
"Is everything alright?" she asks and he turns to her.
"I'm just nervous" he says and holds his sleeves in his hands.
"That's understandable. It's not just a new school, it's also only new for you since the other's have been here for almost two years. And it's even a new country. I was nervous the first time too" she says and smiles at him.
"How old where you when you started your first school in America?" he asks.
"I was eight. How was your school back in poland?" she asks tilting her head a little in a worried manner.
"It's was... something. It was really loud and messy. I didn't have many friends there. I was the quiet kid" Leo explains.
"Were they mean to you?" she asks. He looks down for a bit.
"They used to be. From a really young age until I was twelve. Then they stopped and instead they just ignored me. Like I was a ghost, you know, like I wasn't even there" he explains shyly.
"They're not gonna do that here. If you're afraid you won't get any friends I could introduce you to mine right away. I'm sure they're gonna like you. And if anyone is mean to you, you tell me and I'll poison them" she jokes but deep down she means it. He laughs a little and smiles at her.
"Come on" she says and opens her car door.

They walk into the school and when they get to the cafeteria, almost all of their friends are gathered. They walk over to Elvis, Anita, Molly, Aiden, Jack, Amanda and Andre who are sitting and standing around a table.
"Hey guys! This is my new little brother. He's exchange student from Poland. His name is Leo and you're all gonna be his friends now" Nellie says demandingly and all of them smiles at him except for Elvis.
"Well, welcome to the club, Leo" Andre says nicely.
"Oh my god hi! You're adorable" Molly exclaims with the biggest smile. Leo smiles back at her and greets everyone around the table. After a while he notices the serious look he gets from Elvis and is a little scared by it. Nellie notices R standing a bit away, smiling at her.
"What are you doing here?" she asks him without anyone else hearing it.
"I just wanted to see how this goes for you. Nellie Faist who can barely take care of herself in school has now taken on the job of not only taking care of but also protecting a new kid. This will be very interesting" R says and Nellie rolls her eyes.
"Will you help me take care of him?" she asks against her will.
"Yeah, I'll help you" he says and smiles at her.
The bell rings and they walks toward their classes. Leo goes with Nellie so she can show him where he's supposed to be.
"People here are really nice" he says surprised.
"Well, my friends are because I told them to" she says and R turns up on the stairs in front of her.
"No! Nellie you can't tell him that! You're gonna scare him! Sometimes lying is not wrong" he corrects her.
"You have the weirdest arguments" she says to him as they walk by him.
"People are really nice at this school" she turns back to Leo and he smiles in relief.

She opens the door to a classroom where his class is.
"That's Alvin" she points at Alvin at the front of the classroom. "And the two knuckleheads in the back are Richie and Archimedes. They're my friends too, they'll take good care of you" she says and sends Leo in. He sits down beside Archimedes and Nellie turns to Arkie. He looks confused at first.
"Take care of him" Nellie hisses quite aggressively at Archimedes who looks even more confused.
"What the-" he starts and Nellie points aggressively at Leo and gives Archimedes an angry look. He looks at Leo once and then back at Nellie and shows her thumbs up. Nellie waves at Leo with a smile and then walks away and closes the door.
"Well, that was smooth" R comments sarcastically.
"R, no one likes your sarcasm" she says and walks by him. He walks after her.
"You're the only one who can hear me!" he reminds her as they walk away.

Later when Nellie is sitting in class Thomas turns to Nellie.
"Nellie could you read the next path?" he asks and looks at her. Nellie looks down into the book but can't get a word out. She stares at the first word which is the longest in that sentence and she can't get past it.
"Nellie, breathe" R says standing behind her.
"I can't read. I can't read" she says panicing slightly.
R places one hand on her back and the other on the desk beside the book. He starts reading instead. Nellie repeats what he reads sentence by sentence. Amanda who knows that Nellie can't read, looks over at her and smiles at her. It looks like Nellie is reading all on her own.

After class Amanda is by her locker in the basement when Eliasz walks up to her.
"Hi, Amanda" he says with a smile.
"No thank you. You've done enough" she says and looks into her locker again.
"What do you mean, I've done enough?" he asks and takes a step back from her. Suddenly Jack walks up to them, pushes him away from Amanda and punches him in the face without hesitation. Amanda widens her eyes and Eliasz walks away fast. Jack turns to Amanda.
"Did he come onto you?" he asks worriedly.
"Not really. But thank you. I think you have a meating with the principal now" she says and they walk away together. As they walk up the stairs by the rincipal's office, she comes out to them.
"Mr. Hyde! I would like to speak to you!" she says with a stern voice. Jack looks into her office and sees Eliasz.

After school when Aiden, Jack and Amanda comes out to the parking they see Elvis talking to his sister quite aggressively. She stands quiet while he yells at her and they decide to walk up to them.
"I don't want you running around here because there are hunters that knows about monsters and I won't have them kidnap you again!" Elvis yells at her.
"I take it this is Sarah" Jack says and points at her. Elvis turns around to them.
"Yes, this is my sister Sarah. Sarah, this is some of my friends. Aiden he's the other alpha. Jack is his best friend and pack member. Nellie is my sister and pack member.
"Sister?" Sarah asks.
"Well, you know I've been taking care of her since she was born" Elvis explains as Molly, Anita and Andre shows up.
"This is Molly and Anita. They're mundanes, my pack members and friends of Nellie and Amanda. That's Andre. Aiden's pack member. A bear. Everyone, this is my sister Sarah"
"Nice to meet you" Molly says quietly with a smile. Sarah smiles back at her.
"We're gonna go home now. I'll drive you, Sarah" Elvis says and walks away to his car. Sarah gives Nellie a glare that could kill before she walks away with Elvis. She catches up with him and holds onto his arm.

When they are home again they both sit down on the couch across from each other.
"I'm sorry I got mad at you. I just don't want to lose you again" he explains carefully.
"You won't lose me again, Elvis" she smiles at him before she kisses him on the lips. Elvis is so chocked he can't react. She pulls away after a few seconds and Elvis just sits there and looks at her with a confused look.
"You need to sleep" he says slowly and stands up, keeping his eyes on her as he walks away.

When Richie comes home he walks around the house a little bit looking after his aunt.
"Aunt Tezz? I'm home" he calls and gets no answer. He walks into the kitchen and finds a note on the fridge saying 'I'll be working late. Be home at eight //Tezz'. Richie lets the note sit and suddenly sniffs up a scent. He furrows his eyebrows at the horrible smell but is drawn toward it to find out what it is. He walks up the stairs and opens the door to his sisters room. He walks inside and finds Hayley laying on the bed. Blood all around her. Her stomach slashed open. Richie widens his eyes at the sight.
