5.11 A legacy

Lola comes home from her job to an amazing smell from the kitchen. She walks in and finds lit candles on the table that's already set with flowers too. She smiles at it ad turns to Elliot who's cooking the dinner.
"What is this about?" she says happily.
"I wanted to do something nice for you. I didn't want to take you out because I wanted a little more privacy. And I know you prefer staying in rather than going out" he says and turns to her as he puts the dinner on the table.
"This is really nice, Elliot" she says and he pulls out a chair for her. She sits down and he sits across from her. They talk a while as they have dinner together, exchanging romantic looks all through out the night. After a while they go quiet and Elliot looks down.
"Is everything alright, love?" Lola asks and takes his hand.
"Everything is perfect. I want you to know something" he says getting a little serious. "I want to give this child everything I have. But before that, I want to give you everything I have. Starting with this thing" he says and picks up a ring from his pocket. Lola looks at the ring and smiles before she looks into his dark brown eyes and realizes what he means.
"There's really no other way to say this so, will you marry me, Lola Touhy?" he asks. Her eyes tear up a little bit.
"Yes I do. I want to marry you before I give birth. As soon as possible" she says and he smiles as he puts the ring on her finger.
"We'll make that happen then" he smiles and kisses her hand.

Leo sits down in the cafeteria with Richie and Archimedes.
"You can stop trying to hide it from me now" he says and Archimedes and Richie look at him confused. "I know you're monsters. Nellie told me everything"
"How do you know?" Richie asks. Leo looks around to make sure no one is there to see anything. He pulls up his shirt to show the healing bite marks on his stomach. He has one line on his waist and the other line by his ribs. Richie and Archimedes both widen their eyes and look surprised.
"What kind of monster did you run into?" Archimedes asks.
"The fenrir" Leo says and lets his shit down again.
"It's already healing?" Richie asks.
"Yeah. And I can barely feel anything. It's been really weird" Leo explains. He looks at Archimedes again who is stuck in his thoughts thinking really hard. Richie notices and they both wait for Archimedes to say something.
"If he would have wanted to kill you, he would have" Archimedes says.
"Yeah I know. Aiden said he did it because he wanted to scare Nellie because that's who he really wants dead."
"I don't think he wanted to scare anyone. Why else would he have turned you? He's a fenrir he can chose if he wants to turn people or not just like any other monster. They don't accidentally turn someone. He wasn't trying to scare Nellie he was trying to turn you into a fenrir. But since you were a human he can't do that. You will only turn into a normal monster." Archimedes explains.
"Why would he turn him?" Richie asks.
"Either because he knows he won't live long. Or because he saw something in Leo that we can't see" Arkie says.
"So, I'm like his son now?" Leo asks.
"No. But you did get his legacy. You're not his son but you're his haire." Arkie explains.
"But he just turned me into a wolf instead?" Leo asks looking into Arkie's eyes.
"Seems so" Arkie says. Richie leans back in his chair and sighs, putting his hands behind his head.
"Well, that sucks" Richie says unbothered and Leo turns to him.
"I don't think it sucks. I get to be a wolf" he says with a smile.
"Yeah but not with the same conditions as the rest of us. We became wolves because we were genetically meant to. You became one because you were genetically forced to. And your genes won't like that one bit. So your turning will be very different from ours" Archimedes explains and Leo's smile goes away.

The two Junior classes are having one class together in the big auditorium. Thomas Hyde are having the class with them. In the middle of his speaking, a quite loud fart is ehard across the room. Some giggles follow and slwoly one by one people turn their heads toward Hector in the left front corner who's hiding in embarrassment trying not to make eyecontact with anyone. A few rows back on the right side Aiden and Nellie are sitting beside each other, Aiden holding his arm around Nellie's shoulder, Nellie having both her feet on the seat in front of her. She rolls her eyes before she calls out across the room.
"So what!? It is nature!" Her spanish accent shines through perfectly. "Now You're welcome to stare at him like that when you've saved three nations and shook hands with the king of France." She takes down her feet and leans forward making eyecontact with a few in the class. "At least he doesn't think he's a fucking princess." She says slowly before she looks at Thomas again. "Go on, Tommy" she says and he keeps lecturing. Hector looks up at Nellie and smiles at him. She smiles back at him and then she turns to focus on the class.
"Well done" Aiden leans over and whispers to her. Nellie keeps her eyes straight forward.
"I'm just protecting the pride. You save their lives I save their asses" she says seriously.
"Even if it's not your own pride" he looks at her.
"He's my friend" she whispers still not giving him a glance. Aiden smiles at her before he turns back to the teacher.

Richie, Archimedes and Leo are sitting on a row at the back of the classroom. As soon as the bell rings, Leo takes his bag and walks as fast as he can out of the classroom before Arkie and Richie even has time to stand up. As they both get up and take their bags they look confused at each other, with their eyes, asking the other what happened. Arkie furrows his eyebrows and Richie shrugs his shoulder innocently. Then he stares at the bench Leo was sitting at. Archimedes notice Richie's look and turns to the table. As the classroom empties, Archimedes walks up to Leo's desk and kneels down by its side. He feels under the desk and looks at the clawmarks Leo has made underneath it. He turns his head to look under the desk and sees that it's far too many clawmarks all over. Archimedes stands up and turns to Richie again.
"He's turning" he whispers and they both run out of the classroom to look for Leo.

They find him in teh basement by his own locker. Richie stops and holds his hand on his heart as he sighs in relief. Archimedes approaches Leo carefully.
"Leo, are you okay?" he asks softly.
"Can you please get Nellie-" Leo says with a breaking voice. "I feel alight but... there's something wrong" he says and looks at them with blue glowing eyes. Archimedes hides his eyes behind the locker again and stands close to Leo as Richie runs away to the auditorium to get Nellie.
"It's alright. It looks fine. You're good, Leo" Archimedes calms him down as he holds the locker door and watches Richie run away. Archimedes takes Leo's wrist to look at his hands. His nails are normal. Then he feels his pulse which surprisingly also is normal.
"Oh this is different" he says and stares at nothing.

When Richie opens the door he trips and falls into the auditorium. Some students turn their heads but no one really cares. Richie walks up to the railing between the little hall space and the row Nellie is sitting.
"Nellie" Richie whispers. "Nell-" he leans over and Nellie turns to him.
"What do you want?" she asks angrily. Richie sits down on his knees on the floor to get closer to Nellie
"Leo needs you. He's turning" he whispers. Nellie gets up from her seat and while she runs around to the door, Richie has time to get up on his feet again.
