It was Cherry's first day dorming with Raven, and the girls couldn't be happier. Enid was the honorary third roommate, the three of the planning to sleep in the same room until Wednesday arrived.

Cherry was ridiculously easy to share a room with, her only request being the allowance of her blankets on the bed as well. Her belongings didn't take up too much space, and the two girls' possessions fit together in the room quite nicely.

Of course, they kept the double bed.

The three of them sat, immersed in their botany homework.

"Do you guys know the answer to-" Enid began, but the Poe girl quickly slid her a piece of paper.

"I already finished, you can copy."

"This is why I love you, Ray."

She sighed, gazing intently at her phone.

"Still waiting for Xavier to text back?" Cherry asked, combing her hair in the floor length mirror she bought in Jericho- specifically for their dorm.

The girls had relentlessly dressed their friend up in the sluttiest outfit they could fish out of her wardrobe, in a moment of unbridled female mischief, to mess with him.

Given the fact that she dressed, to put it Enid's words, like an 'endearing old man who plays chess in the library', the 'sluttiest outfit' in question was just her denim skirt, polka dot tights, and a tank top. Of course, given the chilling nature of Vermont Octobers, she still had to wear a sweater over everything.

Slowly, during her month at Nevermore, she had adopted and developed traits that resembled her friends. For example, she was currently kicking her feet in the air while doing nothing but waiting for a text.

Enid would do this, she thought to herself. A smile danced on her lips.

Her phone buzzed, and the blondes halted their actions to peer over Raven's shoulder.

Xavier:

I'll swing by your dorm in 5?

K

"Oh, you did not just hit that poor boy with a 'k'." Enid's bright blue eyes widened.

"Is that bad?"

"Babe, that's so bad." Cherry replied.

"Oops." She smiled.

Xavier had invited her to his studio again, this time to work on an art project they had been assigned over the weekend. Luckily, she was able to get rid of any nagging thoughts she had about the boy. Almost all awkwardness was gone, despite the imminent upcoming event- that he seemingly was either unaffected by, or didn't know about.
